Story

Labyrinth Aquarium is the embodiment of the work begun by Norm Halliwell at Riverside Aquarium, and the training and knowledge I gained through years of working for St George Aquariums.

As a small child fascinated by fish, I took it upon myself to learn everything I could. I immersed myself in books and gained much experiential knowledge through keeping fish as a hobbyist, and working for the greatest aquarium Australia has ever seen. I have also greatly admired the contribution of Riverside's original owner, Norm Halliwell, to the aquarium hobby. It is for Norm's tireless efforts and funding that we are allowed to keep the species we have in the hobby today. I promise to continue the good work in ensuring species availability, while providing my treasured customers with the best in advice, service and price.

The shop has had a serious facelift from its original incarnation - and watch this space as things are constantly improved for the better!

My favourite LFS! The owner knows everything you need to know!  Very friendly and helpful, cares about your needs and has the best quality fish and gear!

Always enjoy my visit at there. Top quality fish and excellent services. If you have any questions regarding your tank or fish ask Andrew. Pity Chris doesn't work there anymore. Regardless it's a great place to seek professional advice.

I went in to buy a new tank. Even though Andrew didn't have one to sell me he went above and beyond calling other aquariums to help me find one.  Both his selling and buying prices are very fair and transparent.  I had a chat with him and found him to give excellent advice.

I have been going locally to Labyrinth Aquarium ever since I was young when I first bought my goldfish, and then was pleasantly surprised when I took a greater interest in the past time to have other serious hobbyists and enthusiasts tell me that the same place I happened to frequent is what they consider to be the gold standard! Andrew is well known in the circle and I consider his store an absolute treasure to the modern day fish keeping community. I have first hand seen Andrew refusing to sell fish to customers due to inkling suspicions of sick fish. Wealth of knowledge and experience, and other well known fish stores in NSW rely on Andrew for his advice. Can not recommend enough, you are in good hands the moment you step foot in here.

An extremely rude and negative man is there. There are some dead fishes still kept in aquariums. Unbelievable!!! I’m having a dog for 7 years. Very nice and good experience and try to learn and look after fishes. Had a bad experience and told him that I dropped fish accidentally when we move them to a new place. He reacted as I kill them. Do you know how much I cry for them? Who are you and judging people, when they share their special. Go to 62 beamish street. Kind, nice and clean people there.

Could there be a better aquarium? I don't think so, at least for Cichlids. Oscars, Oscars & more Oscars. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, even for advice when not buying. You can tell her cares about each and every fish and the hobby in general. Not a Cichlid person myself but will buy anything I need from here in the future to support this awesome place.

Amazing aquarium and they place fish welfare higher than business profit. we bought a tank from them and they asked us to set it up and filter first for 3-4 days before getting fish.

The best aquarium for anyone looking for healthy fish, especially top quality cichlids. Best advice and help. Andrew and Nis are excellent in both their service and expertise. What they don't know about keeping fish isn't worth knowing. Very highly recommended.

Best customer service hands down. Andrew puts the fish and customers over $$$. Wanted some peppered Cory’s but because the supplier had let him down and they had a few die in the tank he in good conscience refused to sell them to me. He helped us browse throughout the store until I left happy with 3 platys instead.   if you want quality fish, don’t hesitate to visit and ask the friendly staff.

Awesome store for freshwater community fish and African/South American cichlids!  I have purchased numerous fish, plants, dry goods, equipment over the years. Fish have always been vibrant and active with good appetites. Prices are excellent considering you are buying premium quality fish and goods.  Customer service and advice have always been excellent as well.
