4.25 stars for me. Overall our stay was great. What lacks in daytime service for those staying under 7 days, and to be honest I didn’t make the booking so I didn’t read the terms, makes up more in the facilities and tools I need to ensure we keep the place as tidy as possible. The staff were professional and friendly whenever I talked to them and were understanding of our situation. I enjoyed the amenities that were available throughout my stay albeit I didn’t have much time to do so. On behalf of myself, my partner and our two little children, thanks for making our stay amazing. We’ve made memories here this week and we will cherish them for years to come.
Our family stayed here for few nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Our apartment was very clean. Kitchen looked to be newly updated, bathroom still dated but room was presented very nicely. The pool was amazing. By far best one of the best hotel swimming pools. Kids loved the pirate ship pool and nice and warm too! Staff were very friendly.
Beautiful rooms and two restaurants to eat if you don’t feel like going out or cooking with reasonable prices. The pools are fun and guaranteed to entertain your kids for hours on hours, there is a free gym and two jacuzzi/hot tubs. From your rooms you are sure to get beautiful views and such good photo opportunities along with a wide view of the beach and city. I definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking for a room to relax in and activities for kids.
Hotel is very old , full of mould. Common areas have an awful odours and it looks like the windows have never been cleaned . The sauna has been neglected and the steam room has a scent of mould. Not to mention towels for the pool are not included in the room price . No extra toilet paper given because we didn’t stay for more then 8 nights Pathetic. Would not stay here again. One of the worst experiences .
Currently staying here having our first holiday after covid pandemic. I really don't want to leave, rooms are spacious and fully equipped. We have a 2 bedroom apartment which is bigger than a lot of houses. Shame restaurant and bar isn't open any more. Chang mi Thai restaurant is just by the pool, that's in another review. Excellent, go there. I haven't tried any other hotels at Surfer's, but I suppose why would I if this one is what a spoil yourself holiday is all about. Staff at reception are helpful and friendly. Location is fantastic, walking, 4mins to beach, 8mins to Coles, 11mins to Cavill ave, 1min to tram. Pool/lagoon is very resorty, nice, there's a indoor heated pool, spa and full gym. We have stayed here for on four occasions and we'll be back for many more. 1 week doesn't cut it 12-14 days would of been better. Sooo much to do!
Pretty average and certainly not worth the approx $350/night. The foyer is an empty wasteland, that smells absolutely putrid / like excessively strong toilet cleaner. Many other reviews also reference this and seemingly after months of online feedback, they’ve done nothing to address it. The staff at front desk were patronising and went a complete round-about way of helping us get some towels for the pool. After asking, I was told I have a washer/dryer for that reason, and then told I could hire them, and then eventually told me after questioning the hygiene and appropriateness of using a towel we used for shower in the pool area I could sign up to their Accor program for free and get an extra towel each. Completely unnecessary in approach, and a waste of my time. To be repeatedly told “as I said, you have a washer/dryer” is unhelpful at best. The bed in our room had sand in it when we first climbed in, which was very unnerving. To access breakfast, you need to walk down the road to another Mantra hotel. Better off going to many of the other nicer and with better service cafes around the area. No bar by the pool, only a basic kiosk with overpriced food. Decent location, but that’s about the only positive thing. We left a day early and paid for an extra night of accommodation elsewhere.. and when I told them we were leaving early, they didn’t bat an eyelid or even ask why. Reflective of their poor service and lack of care. Mantra used to be great, but honestly, wouldn’t bother staying with them again. Very disappointed and a complete waste of money.
My partner and I stayed at Crown Towers Mantra room 815 in February 2023. The booking was through Gold Coast Resorts Private Apartments Pty Ltd. This was our second stay in 2 years at this accommodation, as we had a great experience the previous time 2022 with the accommodation and service. Unfortunately, on our last stay this February, we had a horrible experience. It all started to go wrong as soon as we checked into our self-contained apartment. We attempted to work out the TV/remote in the absence of any instruction/manual left for us and when we could not and contacted management for assistance, the person that came over to assist us was extremely rude and irritable. During our stay, we found dirty cutlery in the kitchen drawers and an extremely dirty oven. When we tried to use the frying pan provided, it was so rusty that the food we cooked in it came out all black. Also noting that house keeping only left us with 2 rolls of toilet paper we booked a two week stay and there were no rubbish bin bags left. To make matters worse and an absolute disaster experience, every morning we woke up with hives. There was no change of linen provided. We later contacted our booking agent, whom told us that the presence of flees in Queensland is common. What a load of garbage!!! During our stay we tried to reach accommodation management several times to have these issues sorted, however could not get through to anyone. I will never again stay at this accommodation! This has been by far the worse experience I have ever had with an accommodation facility in all my travelling years.
Indy and the Lost Apartment 603 Location is great and the resort pool is fantastic but… It was fitting that there was an Indiana Jones movie marathon on the week we stayed here. As I found many a specimens and relics in the midst of my 2 bedroom rental for the week here in sunny Surfers Paradise. The walkway from the lift to our room, gave off the whiff of a medieval tavern. I found the medieval theme continued in the utilities kitchen draw, as there was no egg turner thingy utensil, which had me thinking “how on earth did the medieval person survive without an egg turner thingy utensil?” and it dawned on me, alas they had never fried eggs. I continued my misadventure to the oven hoping I would be pleasantly surprised but only to be hit with the harsh reality of finding left behind remnants of a roast, is that chicken or beef? hmm I’m tempted to touch and sniff. As I’m writing on the couch, I’m looking across to one of the the side table lamps which remind me of the ancients columns in Rome, if you would classify the 90’s as ancient as well. They are huge and heavy and if it fell on your head, you would die instantly. Speaking of Rome, Mt Vesuvius erupts each time you turn on the kitchen tap, an explosion of water comes out, if it was previously set on hot. Turn on while cold, and you get Niagara Falls. The main shower felt like the engine room of the Titanic, with water coming out of the shower head in unexpected directions complete with engine room, origin taps and noises. You constantly have flashbacks of the Titanic each time you turned on one of the screeching and rattling taps in either one of the bathrooms and reminded myself of why I disappointingly overpaid for this sinking ship, ahem I mean apartment. The mirror in the main bedroom would gladly stand up against any high sheen stainless steel mirror in a maximum security prison. If the Great Gatsby movie set needed props for a remake, they would be glad to know they could find 20’s themed wall sconces scattered throughout this apartment. Leonardo, I count about 6. I cleaned the toaster from the previous guests and the grubby utensil draw but I didn’t bother with the oven as I wouldn’t be using it. You’re welcome! The random mismatch of wire hangers and DIY Better Homes and Garden looking dresser, rustic closets gave seedy motel vibes from NCIS. The photos depicted are not what I expected, it is outdated, rundown, dust and mouldy stuff on the curtains and aircon vents, shower tiles, which is sad. Dried dripping paint along the tiles in main bathroom where they attempted a DIY to cover the 90’s tile theme. We washed and used bed linen sheets to cover the couches, as they are fabric and God only knows what they’ve had to endure. Dexter would probably enjoy cleaning this place inside out with his disposable gloves and forensic know how but I didn’t have time while on holiday. Location and resort pool was great, our kids loved it. The fridge was clean, the washer and dryer were a godsend, beds were clean and comfortable. Towels were provided but you still need to bring extras for swimming, shampoo, conditioner, soaps and kitchen cleaning products provided, were handy and useful. No WIFI so my kids had to hotspot although this was in the pre-booking information on airbnb website. TV in kids room did not have a signal. The TV in lounge was not a smart TV, no access to Netflix, Prime or Foxtel. My kids came away with a better understanding of how I lived in the 80’s and 90’s without internet and Netflix. $3100 for 5 nights from Jan 4-Jan 9 or $620 per night is a hefty price tag that I would expect to pay for a 4 star hotel where the accommodation meets the same standards during peak season. Im sure there are more updated apartments in this building, managed by Mantra or realtors and they might be disappointed to know the upkeep in this unit is not up to par. Bob the cleaner was very friendly and helpful, as was the host Alex.
Has Scooby Doo vibes. Strangely quiet. Creepy figurines spread throughout the lobby. Run-down. No eating or drinking in the lobby is odd. No drinking inside the huge and unique pool area . Feels like too many rules...maybe to control the schoolies but for adults it is unnecessary. Having to scan keycard to go everywhere is annoying, especially if staying with families on different floors. Lots of businesses/areas inside the lobby are closed. Rooms need to be remodelled but are large and have great views. Lifts are crazy fast! Thai restaurant attached to hotel has great food and a genuine feel. Requested 11am check out as listed in the room as a perk for being an Accor member which we are. Was told you could only get an extra hour if you stay for 10 or more nights. Good grief!!! Stay somewhere else!
