Rooms have a great View and are in a perfect spot for tourists but the maintenance and quality of the rooms are terrible. The carpet in the bedroom were just carpet squares placed together, not even stuck onto the floor, the beds had lice in them and sunk in the middle because of the use it's had, the sliding door in the toilet was broken before we stayed in the room and there was no sanitary bin for the ladies.
This resort claims to have a lot more than it provides, me and my partner came just wanting a nice cheap suite and although you can't complain about the prices; the curtains are mouldy, the bathroom door was broken, air conditioning woke us because of the variation of noise, and there was no kitchen to be able to make anything to eat, not even a microwave which was in the picture on the website. If you are just looking for a bed and a shower that only reached my upper chest, had to kneel to wash my hair this is fine but to stay for a few days its disgusting. In the guest book it clearly states that with manager discretion some sort of money can be refunded, though sadly I was still charged for the full 3 nights when we only stayed 1, you're charged if you want to wash your bath towels, the view although it is nice just could not make up for the rusted, broken balcony and cracked window with a line of silicone 'hiding' the crack. All in all we came expecting a mediocre resort to spend a nice 3 nights on the gold coast and instead had to pay to go to another which was around the same prince but a MASSIVE improvement. I definitely won't be going back.
I would honestly give 0 stars if possible. From the moment I arrived at the International Beach Resort I was underwhelmed by the old dusty building that had been advertised as a luxury hotel. I was further disappointed upon being told I would have to wait hours for the rooms to be ready and ended up having to wait 4 hours before being allowed to check in. It was at this point that a receptionist made a point of mentioning that my room did not have a kitchen which I was made to believe it would have. With the choice of either staying or paying thousands of dollars on a different hotel I decided to give it a shot. The rooms themselves were in similar condition to the lobby. Dusty, old and disappointing. The air conditioning unit had cardboard shoved in the vent that would let loose a piece every so often. The grout and corners in the bathroom were discoloured and dirty. And the sliding door for the balcony screeched when being moved and had to be maneuvered into place to lock properly. On my first night I had my room keys stolen but there was no one at reception to inform of this. Upon telling reception that the keys had been stolen the receptionist made a point of using the word 'lost' rather than stolen. Then they informed me in a condescending tone that it would come out of my bond. I was given a spare key but the receptionist did not seem to care that another key with the address and room number was out there and that my belongings werent safe, returning to gossip with the other receptionst. I later returned to discuss the issue of having no kitchen and was told that I had booked a room without a kitchen and that unless there is 3 or more people in a room they cannot have a kitchen. I was then told that they weren't sure what was on their website only to then tell me that it definitely says there's no kitchen. Fed up with the useless receptionists and their blatent disregard for the safety and enjoyment of their customers, I left the hotel. Checking out after only one night there.
This so called "hotel" more like cockroach infested, mould ridden, crusty carpets, dried up blood in the shower, a lift that took 3 years to get to you was the worst place we could have ever stayed at. The staff were disgustingly rude not giving us a toilet paper roll because we were only allowed a "new" one every second day, so good luck if you have bowel problems!!! although it may seem people are fussy complaining about this dump, but take our word and do not book here, unless you would like to be swarmed with bed bugs in your sleep and develop some rare form of a disease that only this hotel can give you!! also do not bring expensive jeans and leave them on the floor because ours developed mould over night from the rotting floor/wall. p.s this place should be burnt down
The 3 star is for location only. The hotel itself is old Thats ok though just need s a updating Tennis courts are old, cleaners never come to change towls refil coffee sugar make beds no service. Broke glass i had to go downstairs to get vac and mop im on holidays i shouldnt have to do this. Restaurant is never open The hotel isnt lively no music no bar nothing poor very poor. Then i find out there closing down in 2 months. Still keep everything operating for customer satisfaction till the end. If i had known that i would of gone elswer not happy. And staff dont even greet keep to themselves. maintance guy is awesome friendly and polite .
No housekeeping service on our level for the whole 5 days. No refreshment of coffee, tea or toiletries. Charges $2 for fresh towels. Room and overall service is a 2 out of 10 but the view of the beach from our room is an 8.
Where do I start??!! AVOID...DO NOT STAY HERE...!!! You have been warned!!! My daughter and I got conned into going here on an 'internet deal' last year and it was the absolute worst place ever! It was dirty.. there was rubbish and broken glass on the balcony, the curtains were filthy and so was the carpet complete with a burn section in the shape of the iron! The lifts were filthy, ancient and smelly and every time we used them we were in fear of our lives! The 'lounge' a 2 seater cane lounge from the 70's was so uncomfortable we couldn't sit on it to watch the small box tv with awful reception. Had to call reception and ask for extra cushions so we could sit on it. The fridge was on a lean and rattled and we weren't game to turn on the airconditioning small box unit as it was sooo filthy we thought we'd get Legionnaires disease! The only bright side was that when I got home I wrote and complained to the company who sold me 'the deal' and was given a complete 'no more questions asked' refund! Obviously I was not the only one who complained! DO NOT BUY THIS DEAL......DO NOT BUY THIS DEAL.....DO NOT BUY THIS DEAL!!!! Ps. I want to be the one to push the lever when they demolish this place!
A nice place for relaxing. Got free upgrade to a one bedroom apmt at checkin. Location is very good, beach is just cross the road. Cafes and restaurants are only a few mins walk. Nice ocean view through balcony and bedroom windows. Kitchen seems just got renovated. no problem to cook a simple meal. Week days are quiet. Will definitely come back for a short holiday.
Arrived at this so called international resort to find out there is only one level for a car park and it was full. We waited ten minutes to see if anyone would leave to get a car park,no luck so I went up stairs and was told by the reception guy to just park in the driveway where it has signs everywhere saying no car park! After that ordeal we took our bags inside to find out the lifts were not working, the same guy told us to carry our bags up to floor 12 or wait for the lift mechanic to come! I though places like this only existed in some 3rd world countries, not in the middle of Surfers Paradise! We did not stay there, don,t go there, this place should be bulldozed and redeveloped!
It has now been over a week and still no $200 deposit back. Have tried to phone numerous times and nobody even picks up the phone ita ridiculous!! Staff are not friendly at all and the room is basic......
