Little Canton Chinese Restaurant

About

Little Canton has created a passion for the Chinese Cantonese Cuisine and to this day is recognised as one of Adelaide’s best.

Story

Canton, also known as Guangzhou, is the third-largest Chinese city and the largest city in South Central China, a beautiful, advanced city and an important cultural center with a full history.

Cantonese cuisine has widely been regarded as the pinnacle of Chinese regional fare, because of the immensity and diversity of the ingredients used. This is because Canton, a long established trading port in Southern China, has been exposed to more imported food products and ingredients than any other area in China. Cantonese cuisine comes from Guangdong province and is one of the Eight Culinary Traditions of Chinese cuisine. Canton dishes are characterised by their tender and slightly sweet taste. Classic Cantonese sauces are light and mellow.

Canton is also famous for eats yum cha culture. Yum cha is a dining experience which involves drinking Chinese tea and eating dim sum dishes. Yum cha is Cantonese which literally means “drink tea”. Dim Sum loosely translates to “ordering from the heart”. An array of small delectable portions is available for each food connoisseur to sample, keeping in mind that these bite-sized pieces allow ample room for a wide variety of dishes.

we are here to share our traditional food culture for you to experience the real Cantonese food and to feel a little of southern china at a Little Canton!

This is my go to yum cha place in Adelaide. Parking is easy, the restaurant itself is bright and airy, service is efficient and most importantly, the food is great. I know it’s not for everyone, but my litmus test for yum cha restaurants, the chicken feet, are the best in Adelaide. It so follows that the dumplings are pretty good too - thin, delicate skins, on juicy and generous fillings.
Nice Chinese Restaurant outside of the city, easy to find and there is plenty of parking. has all the regular dishes, prices are about $20 per main. Decent sized servings and food arrived quite quickly. Tasty. Also does Yum Cha during the day.
So many dishes to choose from. Almost everything is tasty and good. Overall, a convenient place for yumcha lunch because there is free parking right at the doorstep and quality is consistent. Prices are similar to the nicer restaurants in the city.
Thanks for making my day. Found a dead cockroach in the chicken feet with black bean sauce. The manager just said sorry and took away the dish. When we get the bill, no compensation or a sorry from the staff and they pretended nothing was happened. Well done
Tried yum cha and dinner as well. Both great and yum. But they sometimes miss to serve some dishes of yum cha that I ordered. Need to improve this.
Little bit need Generous for give fresh chilli..we buy 4 containers take away and charge $2 for fresh chilli not even fresh and maybe only 1 or 2 chilli cut for $2 in small little container w/ sauce in it. The rest, is all goodFood: 4/5
Great yumcha at at a great place always driven past but didn't never tried until a friend recommended. Very easy parking too compared to City squid tentacles was really good and so was the chicken feet.Food: 5/5
Went in for a meal before seeing a show at the Thebarton Theatre. Awesome food, best sweet and sour pork I've had in years! Highly recommend - we ordered special fried rice, satay skewers, beef and black bean, honey chicken and the sweet and sour pork. All the food was great, I was not disappointed at all!
Walked in planning to order some take away, ended up sitting down at a table and ordering. Look the food tasted good, great infact. But the place is priced more expensive than the atmosphere, the food came out in under 10 minutes which was concerning almost as if it was sitting out the back ready to go. The young lady serving us was polite but didn't speak much English which made it hard. The staff seemed surprised we only ordered mains and also a little annoyed. Disappointed that the meal didn't have rice or noodles with it and the server didn't tell us this either. 2 mains and 2 cans of coke 56 dollars, if you want an expensive dinner then they got you covered. Again pricey but the food was very good.
Lunch is quick to serve with yum dim sims However, for super, the spicy sour soup is not recommended - too sour and spicy with small size. The entry fried squid is not fresh as it’s a bit soft. spicy Sichuan tofu is fine.
