Tried it for one time on their hainanese chicken rice and that’s it. It’s not really that bad but certainly I won’t be paying for that again, hence wouldn’t be eating it if it’s free too. It might be tasty for the local but for someone who was born and raise in south east Asia and eating hainanese chicken rice for lunch and dinner for years and years, this is certainly not the proper way to cook. Also, the rice is absolutely unacceptable.
I've been coming here for years. Although the price of the hainess chicken and rice has gone from 10$ to now 16$ over the years it's still very delicious. I've sampled other dishes from this venue and they are ok, not amazing but not terrible. The main reason you would come here is for the hainese chicken and rice with the asien greens and spicy broth. It tastes amazing and always fills me up.
First time visiting in 2 years. Prices are still very reasonable. The laksa is meant to be the best in Adelaide, though I tried other things today. The curry chicken was tender and well proportioned. The wonton noodles were delicious and flavourful. As usual, their sauce station delivered great flavours to complement the meals. The staff were friendly and smiling, definitely brought value to the experience. Absolutely worth a visit, just note that they close around 4pm.
We shared a Laksa and it was probably one of the best ones we’ve had. Absolutely delicious and super quick to come out.
Food was barely warm, wouldn’t even give a glass of tap water, this place has gone downhill
Weve been going here for years its usually really nice I got take away fried kway teow ive eaten this here before and many other restaurants It was absolutaly awfull it had no flavour 3 tiny shrimps a few bits of dried old tasting chicken i saw no egg 3 tiny bits of fish cake or something? It was a terrible and flavour less pile of noodles wont ever go back Theyre too busy rushing people in
One of the best value for money eats in Adelaide. A visit to Chinatown always includes a stop off to have lunch here. Hainanese Chicken, Kway Teow and my favourite menu item, Laksa. All food is served quick and packed full of flavour. @cwade_creative
I love Chinatown Cafe. They are the number one place for laksa in Adelaide. You won't find a better balanced or tastier coconut broth around. Staff are always quick and efficient too
Authentic malaysian cooking. Good price and large potions. Wait time is very short as well. Ordered dry wanton noodle and it was great.
Food place to hangout with lots of different shops with many different things on sale. Competitive prices and lots of verity. Also lots of good places to eat and drink ranging in prices. Can get a coffee or tea or something to eat in a formal or casual setting.
