Leading Edge Electronics Gladstone is your local computer and electronics store located on Tank Street in Gladstone, Queensland.

Story

We purchased our 1st Electronics store in Innisfail Nth Qld 1990 which was a Dick Smith Electronics Stockist and Car Audio store. In 1996 we sold this business to purchase another electronics store in Tank St, Gladstone which sold Jaycar Electronics & Home theatre products, renaming it Gladstone Hi-Fi. Introducing the Dick Smith Electronics range within the first week of taking over, we quickly out grew our 76m2 store and in 2000 purchased our own premises on the Corner of Tank and Auckland Sts, and moved in to our new 160m2 showroom.

In 2004 we became a foundation member store of Leading Edge Electronics, a buying group dedicated to supporting local independent retailers and enabling members to provide consumers in regional Australia with well known brands at competitive prices, backed up of course by local service by local owners.This decision opened up the way to enable us to provide our customer's with a wider range of products and services that we were never able to offer previously.

In 2007 we decided to expand the floor space by an extra 100m2 moving Gladstone Hi-Fi into the store next door, creating a dedicated Hi-Fi and Home theatre showroom, with full working displays & a theatre room to offer you the complete look, feel and listening experience of being in a home environment. This gave us room to showcase reputable brands like Bose, Yamaha, Denon, Marantz, B&W, NAD, Tannoy just to name a few.

Doing this allowed us to add Leading Edge Computers to our dimension and expand our range of Electronics and Computer products. Due to customer demand, we then introduced Apple Mac Computers, iPads & iPods to our range and started computer repairs and servicing, with a qualified trained service technician & became local authorised service agents for a range of computer brands.

In 2016 we joing Leading Edge Groups new division "Smart Choice Tech Repairs" and started repairing mobile phone & tablets.

We regularly attend training sessions with our suppliers which is necessary to stay aligned with the new technologies constantly evolving so you can be assured your getting the best advice and service possible. This in turn “matches” each link in the chain for reliability performance and satisfaction.

We have recently been awarded The Leading Edge Electronics General Manager’s Award, The Leading Edge Computers Rising Star award and 100% in the Mystery shopper survey, as a result of our dedication to our business and customers.

If it’s electronic we will have it, (and if we don’t, ask us – because we do special orders) as we carry a very wide range of products and with the back up of Leading Edge Group, can supply most anything that you might need in the way of consumer electronics.

Due to the fantastic support of the residents of Gladstone and surrounding towns, we have been able to proudly support the local community in return and now employ 6 staff, plus ourselves.
