The Lane Cove National Park is a jewel within Sydney's lower North Shore. Part of the Great North Walk parts of this park feel miles away from being in a busy city. An amazing array of flora, birds, lizards and other wildlife right along this well maintained National Park. Lots of entry points into the National Park from Lane Cove, Killara & Macquarie Park. The paths, facilities and BBQ areas all very well maintained. The walk is for easy - medium experienced walkers. So parts of the walk are a little steep so would not advise small children or people who have walking difficulties to have support with them at all times.

Given that you are (almost) in the heart of Sydney, it has an amazing wilderness feel to it. You can watch bats fly at night, listen to the birds in the morning and take the train to the city center in a few minutes. Well maintained with friendly staff and a great kids pool. Best city campground I have ever been to. A jewel of a place, and reasonably priced at that.

A lovely place to go for walks and to see waterdragons. Even though it's in Sydney you feel as if you have stepped into a lush outback. There are boat hire facilities, It has free entrance without a vehicle or a small vehicle access fee. If you are going to follow part of the great north walk when here i suggest making sure you have comfortable shoes and water . I'd also suggest bringing something to put litter in as once on the walk dustbins are very few and far between. The park has a no smoking policy.

Great park. Excellent amenities. The tracks are well maintained and the rest/ bbq areas are keep in great condition. No rubbish. This is a great place to have a family picnic. Lots of open space for games and plenty of places to access the river for canoeing. You can see plenty of natural beauty on the walls, both flora and fauna. Short and long walks are sign posted. Highly recommended for a day out.

I've stayed here twice, first time everything was good and I enjoyed my stay. Second time someone took my power lead when I left the site for just over an hour. Not the caravan parks fault but I felt less comfortable after that. $3 washing machine and dryer (3 x $1 coin) Good facilities, close too the train station (15 min walk). Powered sites are definitely worth the extra $2 / night, sites are nicer and more spacious. They have some groceries available at the front desk. Free wifi in shared area.
