Had a frustrating experience at Kmart Northland’s customer service counter. A simple $5 refund for a sealed item purchased just a day before turned into a 10-minute ordeal. Despite presenting the original receipt and payment method, the staff insisted on checking the payment ID just because I used Apple Pay. Then came unnecessary questions about the reason for return—all for a $5 item! No wonder the customer service line is always long while there’s barely any staff in the aisles to assist shoppers. Kmart Northland seriously needs to improve its service efficiency.

I’m very disappointed at one of the lady in the service desk, I wanted to get a refund of the pillowcase I bought there but then realised I got the wrong size, it’s not broken, there’s no stain, and I still have the receipt. The way she talked to me and her attitude was disrespectful. I’ll never come back to shop at Kmart Northland anymore.
Bought a vegetable dicer that was rarely used and it broke recently from chopping an onion due to its rubbish quality, it just hit 1 year old.nnStore manager claims there is a so-called store policy that they only warrant products for 1 year, when I showed her there is no such thing in their store policy, she was unable to point it out.nnShe ignores that fact I pointed to her according to ACL that products sold have to be fit for purpose and in working order, she does not care and tries to claim that I must have dropped it without any evidence.nnAbsolutely appalling customer service and illegal. Yes, I challenge you if you dare say it is legal, maybe even take you to VCAT.
Kmart is great as far as stock and price but please please staff, can you smile a little. I’m yet to see a staff member that is happy to be there on a Sunday.
