Had a great experience at Myer in the electrical appliances department at Northland shopping centre a month ago. I was looking for an iron and ironing board, but couldn’t find the board on the shop floor and wasn’t sure which one I needed. The salesperson, Kathy or Kathleen hope I got the name right, was incredibly helpful. She went out of her way to bring out a few different options for me to choose from and was very friendly throughout. Really appreciated the service, I’ll definitely be shopping here again!
I was there during the youth machete violence in Northland. The staff quickly sprung into action blocking exits from the store. They quickly guided us to a store room, where we waited for 45- 50 minutes. Staff kept watching and continued to assess what was going on in the shopping centre and then guided us to the nearest safe exit. They even offered us bottles of water.
I came in specifically to buy an item from the homewares area upstairs, which was on sale at Myer, but David Jones the exact same item in stock as well, and for $20 less. I checked Myer’s price match policy before coming in, but when I asked to match the price at the counter, the staff seemed reluctant and asked a series of questions about which location I would go to etc, and eventually made me wait while they called a manager. They refused, saying the Myer price was their “cost price” without offering any clarity on what that actually was, which seemed pretty suspicious, I don't know of that many major stores that sell items constantly at cost price when they go on sale, it doesn't check out. The price match seemed to satisfy all the requirements that are set out on their own site. I’ve been a regular Myer shopper and have a membership, but this experience felt unfriendly and frustrating, especially since I felt I met the conditions for a price match. The staff were slow, unhelpful, and I left feeling like I was lied to. The staff member told me I'd do better to shop with David Jones, which was finally something we both agreed on
Had the most amazing experience at Myer today, Susan who was working at Estée Lauder was amazing! She was so patient and helpful with shade matching a foundation for me and took her time to make sure I found one right for me. Such a lovely experience, her kindness made my day!
Really, really bad non existent service in women’s shoe department and rude staff.nI was totally ignored while other customers who came after me were quickly served, less than zero stars.nIf you want customer servicendon’t come here as they won’t help you and judge you on your appearance.nSeriously do better, why even work in customer service if you won’t serve customers?
