This particular Kmart store is bad. The shelves in a lot of departments are regularly empty. Random items from customers that are dumped on the wrong shelves are left rather than sorted. The staff are all really young, it seems they’d rather not talk to customers who have any questions about stock or location. On one visit I was looking for an item listed as in stock, but the service desk attendant told me the items were in the warehouse still packed from shipping and likely wouldn’t be on the shelves for weeks. Another visit I tried to buy a memory stick, but the attendant showed me a cluttered drawer full of electronics behind the service desk and said she couldn’t tell if they had any there. I had to prompt her a couple of times to actually move items and check. I asked for a big bag at the checkout I don’t have a car - it’s a 30 minute walk home to which the attendant mumbled something. I asked him to repeat, to which he kind of snapped “none left” loudly at me. Yesterday I bought two side tables, but one is bent and the other has the wrong parts. I can’t find my receipt which is obviously my own issue, but I’ve been calling the store for hours to see if they can reprint it. 14 attempts at calling all department lines over this time and no one is answering. Which leaves me to chance it by carrying these two quite heavy tables on a 30 minute walk back to the store.nI imagine wages for this brand are probably less than ideal, and the staff seem really young. And multiple factors probably count for the stores general disarray, but I’d avoid this site and try another if you’re able. I get the impression Kmart has certainly given up on this store. I can’t imagine they read reviews.
I recently had a very disappointing experience with Kmart's Click and Collect service. I ordered a toy Hulk figurine for my little cousin's birthday, and when I went to pick it up, I was shocked to find the box ripped and destroyed. It looked like it had been through a lot before reaching me.nnThis is completely unacceptable, especially for a gift. The condition of the packaging was so poor that I would feel far too embarrassed to present it as a birthday gift even though the box will be opened anyway. When I called the store they advised me that the one I purchased was the last in stock. It would be ideal to receive some kind of compensation for my troubles. They offered me a refund but the birthday party was the same evening. This did not adequately solve my issue.nnI admit that I bought this last minute but I find it dreadfully dishonest that Kmart promises to have click and collect ready by 4pm the same day. I understand stock can be an issue but once someone wrapped this as a click and collect item, shouldn’t they have actioned a refund instead?!
Was looking at purchasing something slightly bulky, so chose to come to this store over the CBD one as parking is free here and I don't have to worry about racking up a parking bill whilst taking our time shopping with my toddler. Spacious and clean, managed to purchase what we came here for but stock was limited on quite a few items though. Check out was a bit confusing as it's not near the exit as you'd expect, and though there were many self checkout machines, there was still a long queue, but wait time wasn't too bad. More than one staff to assist. As it's part of a shopping centre, there's public toilets available, including a decent parents room.
Store has been sliced and shrunk considerably inside.nThere's plenty of stock compared to CBD store.nThe check out counter is poorly located in the middle of the plan rather than at the exit. So if the security guy is moody, they will go through everyone's bag upon leaving.
the older lady who’s at the door most days needs to learn proper customer service. she doesn’t even say hi, “have a good day”, say thank you when she scans your receipt and checks your bag, and she has no friendliness about her. customer service who??nnshe’ll let all the older, white people go through without scanning their receipts or checking their bags even if they beep on the way outnnif you’re young, have tattoos or are physically disabled she’ll stop you to look in your bags and then check your receipt. If you beep she’ll stop you from leaving the storeneg if I have more than one of my air tags in my bag it seems to set off the sensors??nnI’m not scared of showing my bag, I’m not stealing anything so I’ve got nothing to be worried about.nI’ve just started noticed this pattern when she’s on the door. It’s very rude and I’m starting to become uncomfortablennI highly recommend visiting the moonee ponds store instead!! they’ve always got stock and their door people are lovely, lovely enough to even stop and have a chat with you!nndo better barkly square kmart!!!
