Usually a lot of people during the time the uni starts. You can not only buy the books but also some clothes and stuffed toy with uni logo on it. The service here is really nice. If you tell the name of the book they will help you to find it no matter how many people there. However, during the beginning of the new term, you may need to wait in line for about 20 minutes.

Frequently orders are placed and never fullfilled. Staff will string you along, calling people and then telling you that it will be there tomorrow. There are a lot of tomorrows in 3 weeks and let me tell you my order supposedly came on all of them. Will eventually cancel your order and return money with very minor show of forcefulness.  If your order does arrive, the promised SMS will never arrive and you will have to make an effort to force staff to check arrived stock for your order once you consider a suitable timeframe has elapsed.  Shelves are stocked with vinyl toys and other nonsense and stocks are bereft of needed textbooks and readers.  Otherwise it is an okay experience. If what you want is already there it's not worse an experience than anywhere else, and if you're after simple stationery, it's not a terrible experience, nor are the prices outrageous by Australian stationery price standards.  But for most needs either order through Co-Op online or some other retailer, you will have a much better experience than walking in here looking for something specific.

Love the energy the staff give out in this store. The gentleman manger helped me with book selection and the some other small gifts. He was very helpful. The store was busy,  but overall the customer service was excellent. I look forward to my next visit and finding some other new bits and bobs!!

I put an order for a university varsity jumper size L as there was not the correct size on the shelves. Staff processed my money and told me to wait for a text message for the jumper arrive. Waited 3 months and after multiple visits each member told me 'it was on its way.' Fed up i went the last time and demanded to know where my jumper was and then was told it had not been ordered or even made at my request.  Staff were unhelpful and blamed manufactures saying 'they have no idea, it could take a year' to produce. What type of company takes your money and then doesn't even properly order the good. No type of compensation or resolution was made on there hands for the lack of professionalism or wasting my time and money. However i got my money back eventually for the jumper $99  but not the membership payment $25 i only bought to buy the jumper. Do not buy clothing from here if they do not have your size on the shelf.

The shop is understandably long and miserable when university starts and everyone wants to get their books, but they manage their books very well and the people there are very nice and helpful. If your book is not in stock they would have it ordered for you and brought to the shop before school starts. Great service!

The staff are friendly and proactive. It's the stock that makes the experience down. I've been to coop unimelb several times after some uni souvenirs and gifts and they are either "on delivery" or "out of stock". Better call to double check before you go there.

The google description says it all: "People typically spend up to 30 min here". Long wait times for simple things, never on top of orders even though the lecturers put in their order months ahead of time. The name Co-Op suggests it works cooperatively with the students, however you'll find at that it actually means it's a big greedy corporation which follows the cliche of overpriced uni textbooks..

This bookstore is poorly stocked and terribly disorganized. I spent twenty minutes rummaging through a mess of shelves and piles books are not organized alphabetically or by subject number, only to discover that they didn’t carry any of my required politics or history textbooks. Baffling.

A most frustratingly inadequate system.  Subject Readers should be included under textbooks.  Lecturers advise Readers are available but the bookstore doesn't know about them!!!!!!  Spend half a day waiting on phone to make a phone order to try and avoid horrendous queues and ....no message advising what number in queue.

Tried purchasing my text books online, said they were in stock. Now they are on back order with no ETA, great I'm going to finish my subjects then get the text books. 10 day turn around to get a refund, seriously unimpressed.
