Kaikoura Seafood BBQ Kiosk

Very simple place, serving seafood. Staff was very nice but the food is nothing special. The crayfish was nice as were the prawns, but they we're simply fried with butter over a grill. No spices or seasoning. The prices were lower than other restaurants in the area.

Seafood was great. The way it was served was a bit novice and the rice got cold quickly. the view was great though, and the wait wasn't too long even though there were many tourists. One huge thing - Get More Seating!!! All seats were taken with most having multiple different groups on tables. Not on. Edit - after passing through Kaikoura a few times, I have learnt it is only open at popular times. Best to go in the middle of summer.

One crayfish was $66 and you eat on the road. I spent over $100 for three people. Crayfish was served with salad, bread, and rice. Rice was not good and vegetables were bit old. Bread was good. Crayfish was good as it was simply grilled. By the way I think it could be better if I had them in the proper restaurant.

Nice find, good and wonderfully fresh seafood. The chowder is a must try. Huuuge portions and the service was a little slow but we stopped by during high-season. The ladies hosting are very nice. Good spot

A unique surrounding for lunch. We ordered seafood platter. Seafood was fresh. Scallops and mussels were well cooked, prawns were partially cooked/under cooked, Fish was over cooked. Rice was badly cooked and cold. Horrible. Suggest toasting the slice bread.
