Coopers Catch

Would you like some chips with your salt? Reviews led me to believe this place would be fantastic - the fish was out of this world but the chips had huge lashings of salt which made us throw out half of them. The potato scallops, although hand made, were way too thick. Meaning they weren’t cooked and also ended up in the bin. Counter staff struggled to understand basic English and required education from other customers. Seems like a tourist trap to me.

Chips were fried too many times and that made them too crunchy and you lost the potato from inside the chip as it was replaced by the oil they were fried in. Fish was fresh but batter rather too thick. Overall i wouldn't use them again. Not the best by a long way.

Such good fish and chips. The fish especially was delicious. So nice that they provide condiments too. Got the meal deal for 17 dollars which was great value! Watch out for the seagulls!

The best fish 'n' chips we have had in a very long, long time. Well worth the drive out from Christchurch!! Beautiful day to sit out on the beach with yummy food. Thank you.

Fantastic fish and chips in Kaikoura. It was busy when we went but well worth the wait. The staff were awesome, friendly and attentive.
