Groper Garage

We went to this place because every other restaurant apparently was fully booked and here there was no reservation needed. It's a low-key place with simple and good food, great beers and ciders and a very laid-back atmosphere. If you're not in the mood for anything fancy but just some good times and good food, this is your place. The portions are also huge! The nacho dish was way too much for me!

Waited an hour for meal. Then told an hour after waiting that some of the meals we ordered weren't available. Waited a further 30 minutes (hour and a half in total) Once the meals finally arrived the meals were either cold or badly burnt.

Wonderful place. Saw some food sent back by some moody lady. But staff were friendly. Great cold beer in the heart of Kaikoura

Just stopped in for a pint and didn’t leave for a few hrs. Great spot for people watching. Service was great and beer was cold
