Stayed here twice in early June 25: to & from a trip to the Pacific Islands.nnMeet & greet in one direction was none existent: surly and offering minimal help. However, the return trip was just the opposite: warm, friendly and very helpful.nnRooms are basic but clean and functional.nnLocation is close to airport but tricky on foot from international terminal, with zero signposting. Apparently good signage in Airport to hotel connections misleads you to a dead end as far as we found, which was disappointing. Luckily we are kiwis, knew where we were going, it wasn't raining too hard and we had time to negotiate blind alleys and security fences across carparks.nnBreakfast is held in nearby cafe which is a good arrangement and delivered good results.nnHaving stayed all over NZ during the past 25 years I can report that the cost is high by NZ standards for a 2 star hotel. Auckland airport has a reputation for gouging customers on price. Unfortunately the IBIS has jumped on that bandwagon.

For a ‘budget’ hotel this place was amazing. Free laundry, coffee, cheap shuttle bus option from lobby to terminal. Rooms small but comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Lobby quite large if you need a quiet space to work. Definitely recommend for the price.

Check in process was okay. The bed was comfortable with the exception of the pillows. The room is very very small and with the bed being on rollers it literally moved every time we moved anywhere. The room is sound proof from outside noise but not inside noise. We could hear the whole telephone conversation of the guest in the next room to us and another guest who thought it was appropriate to whistle down the corridor. I also found the room quite hot and stuffy. Location of the hotel was good and there is a shuttle which will take you to or from the airport terminal at a reasonable price. Book and prepay with hotel reception to use the bus. We were also grateful to find there was a full restaurant next door to the hotel which was good quality and reasonably priced.nWould I stay again?? I'm not sure the convenience and location make up for a poor quality sleep.

Excellent location right next to the Airport. Queen Room is very ‘snug’. For our next visit next week we are organising for everything we need to be in one smaller case as there just really isn’t capacity to have open cases. Rooms & bathrooms are clean and tidy. Check in was quick & easy. Free carpark on site or easy access via regular airport bus $6 one way. Located next to a supermarket & food outlets. We definitely use again due to location & accessibility.

Second visit to NZ and the second time at this hotel.nClose to the airport and a good place to relax after a long flight and place to prepare for a forward journey.nAlso when preparing for leaving NZ.nWe didn't partake of any dining at the hotel as there is a bar and restraunt right next door.nThis too is great as there is no need to travel a distance to eat or drink.nThere is a bus service to the airport which is at a cost.nHire car companies are close so returning your hire vehicle is better prior to your flight as they provide a free bus service to the airport.nWe will always stay at Ibis if we stop in Auckland.
