A great place to take young children for the farm yard walk - ours was entertained by seeing the range of animals. She especially enjoyed walking through the chicken pens and seeing the goats. It was a particularly hot day when we went and a bit more shade would make the experience that much better, they are in the process of adding more patches of trees for the animals which should benefit walkers too. There are a number of different walks available for older children an adults alike which take in the volcanic coastline and local bird life. You can also book birthday parties to get close up with the animals and hear from some of the park rangers. Parking was easy (but it was monday) and there was plenty of picnic tables to boot. We will be taking our little one back again.

Nice to be in a country setting so close to the city. Would be good if there was a shower though. Only bug bear is other campers leaving their camping rubbish in the worm farm!

A great place to take the kids. Lots of animals and you're free to roam through the paddocks. Not that suitable for a pram as it's either gravel roads or grass but some might be ok. Also take a picnic if it's a nice day!

A great place to take your children to freely explore and also pet farm animals. Nice open spaces and plenty of places to setup a picnic spot. A must see place if you're at or passing through Mangere Bridge.
