The movie experience was okay , but there are many things that looks like need to be repaired, the seats were too old and torn . Overall movie was good , but the place looks a bit dirty. I’m not leaving 1 star , as I hope the management team is working to improve on the public’s suggestions.
I usually enjoy going to the movies, but this visit was honestly frustrating. I was in Cinema 08 and my seat was filthy, covered in old popcorn and clearly hadn’t been cleaned between sessions, even though I arrived only 2 minutes before the movie started. I had to go back down and find a staff member just to get the seat cleaned, which made the whole experience even more annoying. It was supposed to be a recliner, but the reclining function didn’t even work. On top of that, the armrest was broken. Really disappointed and not sure I’ll be coming back unless things improve.
Absolutely appalling cinema. My partner and I went last night to watch Better Man, but had to leave before it started due to the state of the cinema. The toilets were the filthiest I’ve seen at any place ever, there were about 8 cubicles on level 2 and 0 of them were usable. There were no working lifts, making it inaccessible to any injured or disabled person. The floors and stairs were sticky and filthy with rubbish and popcorn. The theatre itself, number 6, was disgusting. Moths flying all over the place, scratched up recliners, rubbish left all over, a rancid smell of moths and dampness, and poor screen quality. It was hard to find any seats that were in semi-normal condition. Also, no one checks tickets, you can just walk in for free and watch a movie. Although, not even a free movie is worth this. It was a dumpster fire. We drove all the way to the cinema just to explore as we have visited many cinemas across Sydney, but nothing compares to the state of Bankstown cinema. Complete waste of time and money. Please do not visit this Hoyts location. Anywhere but here.
One of the worst cinema I have seen. The recline chairs some broken some not working . Carpark very little. Bugs insects flying in cinemas..what??!!!!!..The worst thing that super annoying is the screen is super dirty cover 1/3 of the screen in cinema no.6. Other cinema with spots also but no.6 is the worst. Things have reported to the managers in the past but nothing come to fix. What is going on ?!!!!!??…. Please fix this. People paid for all this services
I had a HOYTS voucher that was expiring and after having read the reviews I have to say I was apprehensive about going to HOYTS Bankstown and was actually considering taking the longer trip to either Cronulla or Broadway.nnHowever, I'm pleased to say that my experience was good. I think going to a 9pm Sunday night session helped avoid some of the rowdiness issues that others have experienced.nnThe staff member at the counter was very friendly and helpful in redeeming the voucher and choosing our seats.nnThe movie we saw M3GAN 2.0 was in Cinema 7, which had a good sized screen and sound quality and our recliner seats were working fine and were very comfortable.nnOnly negative was that the mens toilets upstairs were closed for cleaning and the accessible toilet had no toilet paper in it and the hand dryer didn't work and there was no paper towel as a backup.nnI didn't purchase any food or drink, so can't comment on that side of things.nnI'd definitely go back there again.
