My partner and I stayed at the Grand Chancellor over the new years break 24/25. We originally planned 4 nights here then planned to move onto another hotel to mix it up but 2 days in we decided to extend our stay here.nnThe location is excellent, the staff have the best attitude and nothing is ever too hard for them. We took use of the free bike service most days which was a great way to see Hobart they only have 2 bikes but were free every day for us.nnI’ve stayed at a lot of hotels over the years and this has to be probably the best value for money I have ever found.nnI recommend a harbour view if you can get it but we got to enjoy both harbour and city view as we changed rooms when we re booked.nnCouldn’t recommend this hotel any more to anyone considering staying in Hobart.
The hotel staff are amazing and they take care of the tiniest details to make sure everything feels like home! The breakfast buffet is amazing! And amenities like filtered water on every floor and very reasonable laundry facilities are really cool!
I stayed at Hotel Grand Chancellor for two nights during a recent business trip, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few areas for improvement.nnThe location of the hotel is fantastic—conveniently situated with stunning views that really enhance the experience, especially if you enjoy a scenic backdrop. Both the room service and reception staff were excellent. They were friendly, efficient, and attentive, making sure all my needs were met during my stay. Their professionalism definitely stood out.nnHowever, I was a bit disappointed to find that bottled water was not complimentary. Given the price of the rooms, it would have been a nice touch to include this as a basic amenity. Also, while my room was comfortable, I found that the washroom facilities felt a bit dated, which took away from the overall experience. The rooms themselves were adequate, but they lacked the modern feel I expected at this price point.nnIn summary, Hotel Grand Chancellor has an amazing location and great service, but there's room for improvement in terms of amenities and room updates. With a few adjustments, it would be an even better choice for business travelers and tourists alike.
Our trip to Tassie was made that much nicer with our stay at this hotel in Hobart.nClean rooms and great staff, and a great central location, as well as the great food on the menu. The kids also enjoyed the breakfast on offer there.nnThe breakfast buffet is the go for a great start to your activities for the day!nnMy only gripe would be the doors to the other rooms can slam closed noisy at night if you let them self close, so maybe they might be due for the soft close adjustment, as most people won't close a door quietly.nnVery nice views of the wharf area if you happen to get a room with the views.nThanks for making our stay that much nicer!
Lovely experience! The hotel is well maintained, with a clean and comfortable room. The staff are friendly. The amenities, including the pool and gym, are well maintained also. The central location was perfect for sightseeing and dining. Great view too!
