Be very careful renting a vehicle through these guys…  Firstly we picked the vehicle up it was filthy so dirty I had to turn the wipers on and wash the window down just to see out of it.  The car had a tyre warning light on as soon as we drove out the airport.  Upon returning the vehicle with a freshly topped off fuel tank. we were still in the airport when we were notified that there was damage to the car this damage was apparently a stone chip to the front window we questioned this as to our knowledge we had not had any stone chips during our rental would of been hard to spot when we picked up the car as mentioned it was filthy.  Now the man who was on the phone agreed that this was existing damage and we would hear nothing further.  2 weeks later hertz have taken $60 from our account now they have then taken $233. The issue is they don’t answer the phone at all in the Townsville branch. We have emailed multiple times not heard back from anyone.  We can only assume the $60 we were charged was for a full tank off fuel even through it was topped off just before dropping off we have a receipt to prove.  So I’d like to say be very careful dealing with this company as they are impossible to contact and will just run your credit card without explanation.  We are very very disappointed and will be taking the matter further.  Hertz management if your reading this contact me immediately.

Last week I called the general 13 number to book a hire car as I was traveling last minute. I was traveling on a public holiday and when I spoke to the lady on the phone she said I couldn’t hire a car from Townsville airport because they are closed on the public holiday. I found that so odd. So I asked for the direct phone number and called the airport myself- I spoke to Nathan and James and they were fantastic. I was traveling for a funeral so was feeling pretty overwhelmed but Nathan and James provided some of the best customer service I’ve ever received. Thank you

Hertz car almost causing accidents going at least 50kms over the 100kms speed limit, rego 317CC6 - 12:45pm along Bruce Highway.

Ryan, who works at Hertz Townsville airport, was one of the nicest people we have met at a car rental business.  He was kind, helpful and professional. We appreciate the upgrade we received. The car is ace and one of the best we have ever hired! We haven’t been to Townsville before and Ryan happily gave us suggestions that have enhanced our holiday. Our flight was significantly late and he even stayed back for us! Thanks Ryan, you deserve a great review!

I waited in line for 40 minutes for 5 people in front of me to get through. If the system takes 10 minutes per client you either need a better system or more staff.  below is useless nothing reply from a company that clearly doesn't care but has hired a social media manager to make sure all reviews have replies because their training told them that even useless replies like below at least make them look like they're caring.  DON'T HIRE A CAR AT HERTZ IN TOWNSVILLE UNTIL THEY FIX THIER SYSTEM OR HIRE MORE STAFF.

Every time I come here it’s a wait of minimum 30min. Only 1 person serving yet the cheaper car rental places have 2! If you’re in a hurry add the extra wait time to your trip!

Hertz themselves are great, my problem is with the lady who returns the cars, no where did i see it say online that as soon as the car is rented you have to hop in and get the hell out of there, but when she saw me sitting in the car i had rented, waiting for my boss to get off his flight, yeah i was still in the rental carpark, of the car ui rented, once again i rented it and got told its not a public carpark? She had reported me and the other car as if i knew about another car i rented the damn thing, what i was late to pick it up? Would she have called me saying its not a public carpark? Very unprofessional, ask dont assume because we all know assuming does. i dont know your problems lady dont make them my problems.

Great service for presidential circle members. Upgraded to a light SUV. Was the most popular car rental company in the airport but assisted each customer relatively smoothly and quickly to get through the line.

No Hertz Five star or Premier service. One person working a counter to service. Line over 20 people long. Very poorly planned by whoever manages this location

This Hertz office is lacking in customer service. After booking a car to pick up at 5pm we arrived an hour and a half early and were told they had no cars and we had to wait. The customer service officer was not willing to be helpful and find find out when it would be available. The car it's self was dirty and had not been cleaned well if at all. When we returned the vehicle we were presented with a similar customer experience. We asked for a receipt and received attitude as the officer had to go out to the vehicle. Overall there is a lack of customer service at this office.
