Best Europcar branch or any rental car branch that I've ever visited. The staff is so friendly, doesn't want to upsell insurance when they see I booked via a third party with third party insurance. Received a free upgrade to an almost new shiny MG ZS, practical tips, dents rules were explained very clearly with examples. Return was friendly and hassle free. Received additional tips for cost saving on future bookings. Thank you!!!
The communication from the team at the Townsville branch was fantastic. They were more than helpful. They went out of their way and made the hiring experience a joy. Thanks to Steve and the team.
I have mixed opinions about Europcar in Townsville. On the one hand, I've always found Steve and the staff at the Ingham Road office very friendly, and because of that I've gone back to them for the last 4 years around Christmas time, hiring their cars for a week or so. On the other hand, I found the female counter staff at Townsville airport quite arrogant, almost to the point of being disinterested in wanting to hire out cars to walk-ins like myself. Indeed, if it weren't for the airport staff, my rating for Europcar would be 5 stars. My advice is deal with the Ingham Road office first and avoid the airport counter altogether. You'll get a better deal and better service on Ingham Road than at the airport. Europcar is a great company when it comes to car hires, it's just unfortunate that some of their staff - one in particular - let the rest of the side down due to poor service.

No staff because of covid, that's understandable. What isn't understandable is being charged more because you help the office out by picking the car up from a different location and earlier than originally booked for and then proceeding to be charged for an extra days hire for it when you're specifically told you wouldn't be charged by the owner himself because you're doing "them" a favour. Ive had no response to voicemails as no one wants to return my call to discuss the matter, it's now been a month since voicemails were left. Good car, but I was charged more than what was originally agreed upon as my car was upgraded for no reason, which meant the insurance was significantly higher, I had little spending money on my stay as I spent it on the extra car insurance and would not receive it back till 7 days after the return of the car. The male staff member at the airport was rude and reckons he's a comedian too. Was a unprofessional waste of time. I would rather drive up from Brisbane than waste my time with these lot again.
Wonderful people. So helpful and friendly. They always go that extra mile. Cars are always clean and in excellent condition. They offer the best rates that I've ever found. The entire process from booking to returning the car is seamless and a breeze.
Excellent service throughout our family road trip of 11 days. The car was a great little traveller. Understanding staff and mamagement regarding a punctured tyre, was a relief. Will use Europcar again
