Came here yesterday to find a sofa for our new home. Kerri helped us out, and they were so knowledgeable, kind and helpful. We were expecting Harvey Norman to be totally out of our budget, but there were surprisingly many affordable options without compromising on quality. We ended up getting a beautiful, locally-made 3.5 seater sofa with a chaise that will be perfect for our home :-
I went to Harvey Norman Nunawading today looking for a carpet cleaner. I was really impressed with the customer service. A young lady on staff took the time to understand my needs and budget, answered all my questions, and helped me find the best option with a great deal! Even though it wasn’t in stock, she arranged to order it instead of pushing me to buy what was available.nnThe manager was also at the checkout and made sure everything was running smoothly. Great customer service all around , and very happy with my purchase!
I came in to Harvey Norman Nunawading on a week day to buy a microwave.nThere were very few customers about and lots of staff. I was completely ignored by the staff and after a while I left and went to The Good Guys where I was greeted kindly.nnThe isles have appliances in them in some places so it may be difficult to negotiate some of the areas if you have mobility challenges.
Large store with a very open feel to it. There was a wide range of furniture, electronics and whitegoods. Plenty of staff on a week day.
Today I visited the Harvey Norman Nunawading branch for advice on carpet options, but was met with extremely unprofessional behaviour from a sales consultant.nnAs a customer, I only wanted a basic explanation of the different carpet materials and cuts to guide my decision—not a lecture. My mother has a slight dust allergy, so it was important to understand which materials are suitable for allergies and which cuts and types are durable and practical. Instead, the consultant said, “I am not here to educate you. You have to tell me what you want and we will tell you which one to pick.” This was dismissive and inappropriate.nnHe also stated that the carpet brands at Harvey Norman cannot be found elsewhere. If the products are exclusive, clear explanation becomes even more important, but his refusal to provide basic guidance showed a complete lack of desire to do business.nnWhen my mother asked for the best price, he said, “The supplier won’t pick up my call on a Saturday. You have to do business with us first before I’d be willing to assist.” Not only does this show a lack of willingness to do business, but it also reflects poorly on the supplier, making them appear unwilling to engage with potential customers. A customer has the right to know pricing before committing. His tone made us uncomfortable, and he also mentioned he was a “director,” making this behaviour even more concerning.nnI am looking to carpet four rooms and was prepared to spend a significant amount, but due to this experience, I will no longer consider Harvey Norman as an option.
