Tried the yumcha at The Chen, Box Hill. Didn’t really have to make a booking which is good; it’s nice but not as good as some of my other fave restaurants. Parking around the area is not very easy either - Box Hill Central, ACE parking or metered street parking. Seems to be short staffed but they work pretty efficiently and pleasant. Had one dish - salted egg custard bun - which came out deflated and they took back to kitchen to remake. They steam the dishes once you’ve ordered - so do have some patience. Chilli oil was great pairing with yumcha. Pricing was slightly more affordable than some yumcha places.
Is so tasty i wondering why the google review is under 4. Service is good but maybe a bit slow due to staff shortage, please be patient to this. But what i can recommend is, their food is so so so so tasty then other Yum Cha . You should try it, you wont regret.
Excellent service Well priced for the quality and atmosphere. We loved every dish especially the prawn salad dish we couldn’t wait to dig in so didn’t get a great shot of the food but trust me presentation was 100%! Highly recommended! Already planning to book again for next week!!
Everything was good and their services were excellent. I like the environment which is clean and tidy. Haven’t had yumcha in a long time and the food was authentic.
Food was good. Customer services are not really to meet the standard. Waiting time is quite slow and late...recommending they can speed up their kitchen cooking time and serving time. A well managed kitchen operations shouldn't give the reason of crowded dine in atmosphere and losing the level of confidence among customers to come back.
Very fresh and delicious dim sum especially the xo white radish cake everything’s is perfect the service also very good as them always keep checking our tea pot got water or not… this will be my favourite dim sum place
Biggest thing about this place is that it's damn near impossible to find. No advertising no sign. Inside a hotel. The renovations were clearly done in haste and severely lacking at least in men's toilet. Big ticket food items like seafood were definitely sub par. $50+ for scallops in foi gras tasted extremely average. was delicious. same. was horrific its like they never heard of sugar. As was . I can guarantee no one tasted that, coming out the kitchen. If I could give a negative score for those items I would. tasted worse than packet sauce from the Asian grocery store. Overall I'd say if you got lucky you might leave with a good experience. But it's about a 50/50 fail rate.
Went for Yum Cha. Service was prompt and courteous. Dim Sum was delicate and tasty. You can write your order on a paper and hand in. The food was prepared decently fast even though it was a busy lunch time.
Tea is not very good price 3. 50/head Chinese style donut in rice roll13.50 a bit expensive After ordering, food is served so nice and quickly Tea is so much slow served We sat at 11. 10 Then we got our Chinese tea to drink at about 11. 30 Clean Friendly staff members Will come back again Nice place for, Cantonese yumcha!
Had a yum cha lunch with 3 people. Ordered 7 dishes. Waited nearly 1 hour for the last dish. But the dish never arrive after alerting 2 staff during the time. Some staff also ignored your callings. Complainted to cashier owner. Did not apologise for the poor service. Food was quite plain taste. NOT recomended this place as it's a disorganize, and has NO customer service skills.
