A nice, clean store, with pleasant staff. Not the great range of stock that branches have in larger shopping malls, but still plenty to choose from. Very helpful turbaned gentleman in the appliance department.
Don't order online, unless you actually want to delivery up to 10 working days, if in stock. Don't rely on 'in stock' in store, unless you phone the store direct to confirm. Going to that effort - what's the point of farmers online? Issues? stores work 7 days, online - don't bother contacting customer services if anything goes wrong until Monday, and don't don't go to store to complain ...because the computer systems don't talk to each other. 3 stars [ minus 2 for online website, plus 5 - due to a senior store manger putting neck on corporate chopping block to resolve online order issue].
Perfect for most things from hand cream or trousers to a new fridge bed of sofa. I work here as a furniture and appliance consultant but I am also a regular customer for kitchenware small appliances clothes and gifts.
Received just an excellent service today by a Children's Department team at Farmers Silverdale - Alex from department team and Mo, the Department Manager, were just amazing with replacing my broken pram to a brand new one. Though I would be quite happy with a repair of my current one, the team and Store Manager made a decision to replace it to a new one. The process took less than 20 min given I had a 4mo old baby and a toddler sitting in a car. The ladies were incredibly supportive by arranging everything at car park so I was always next to my children. Mo kindly helped me to load a huge heavy box in to the car. Also special thanks to Emma from Estore Farmers team who organized the replacement and made overall communication smooth and efficient. What an awesome team! This made my day, so much appreciated
It's got a wide variety of products. Recently we purchased a table and benches the product arrived however was faulty,we went thru the head office about sorting it out ie some backup service. After waiting a bit got in touch with the silverdale store and they sorted the issue great attitude from the manager right through to the delivery guys . We even purchased some extra chairs.
Pure NZ Merino Wool said the big label on the two sweaters I bought for good money at Farmers. As a farmer only wore them occasionally when out for meals, and changed when returning home. After a year they fell to bits with holes and seams coming undone. Made in China said the very small label.
Got what I went for, such a good range of Manchester. Other stores didn't have the quilt I wanted. Also prices are on the higher side as you get quality
Got a number of items for our baby girl. Loved the experience in this store as expected you don't get asked 2 to 5 times if you need assistance- you ask if u need it
Bad staff experience at Silverdale Farmers which is a shame as I've always had great service across all Farmers stores. I asked about a lower price displayed on a product which was also stickered as 'Display Stock' I asked if it was a lower price due to it being display stock - not an uncommon or unusual question. The assistant gave me a shoulder shrug and I was told "I don't know" and that the item was "still a full price item". When I questioned why then a lower price is displayed, and also a 'Display Model' sticker, the assistant told me she "wasn't sure why - maybe an old price", and I was also told "I'm mean I'm PRETTY SURE it is still full price". When I asked if she could perhaps clarify with someone else who might know the answer to be absolutely sure, if she herself didn't know, she burst into tears and phoned and reported to the "Manager" that I "didn't believe" her?? I had simply requested her to clarify with someone else if not sure other waiting customers also commented on why this wasn't happening, too. I was then attended by an angry staff member, who was claiming to be 'the manager' later found she wasn't!! who, before asking me anything about the situation, immediately verbally attacked me "for making her staff member cry" and continued to berate me for "making a staff member cry" - even said "do you think it's okay to make a staff member cry?"! She was not interested in asking what my query was, or determine what had happened to cause the crying could have been a bad day for the staff member? Or not experienced/trained in handling queries? Or felt guilty for initially not wanting to investigate the price further? Or simply a set up to manipulate the situation to make herself look good? but no - I was told the crying was all my fault! Suspecting that she was not in fact the manager due to the lack of professionalism displayed over just asking for a price to be clarified - nothing more, I asked the self-proclaimed 'manager' whom I later found to be a new staff member if there was anyone higher than her I could speak to - I was adamantly told "No, I'm it, I AM the manger!". She then told me that she would not be speaking to me further and that I could leave. I then went to another Farmers store, asked about Display Stock and showed them the photo of the item in question from Silverdale. This other store Albany were completely professional, they instantly found out why the lower price previous sale price and honoured the lower price - so, I know which Farmers I'll be shopping at Albany and where I won't be Silverdale in the future. I do accept that the initial assistant may have been inexperienced, but overall, the absolutely crazy experience at Silverdale, treated appallingly by an unprofessional staff member stepping in and aggressively misrepresenting herself as the 'Manager', has ensured I'll never shop at Silverdale Farmers again. New staff need to be monitored closer for competence perhaps also mental health issues, and reminded of what do do if they don't know the answer to something just ask!. Staff should also be reminded of what misrepresentation is, as pretending to be a manager to customers when you are clearly not is damaging to Farmers' brand and integrity, not to mention a breach of employment.
Great store, nice layout, helpful staff. Out of stock of a couple things I was looking for but the Farmer's website had them in stock so I ordered online.
