Story

Dr Maria Boulton & Dr Fiona Raciti founded Family Doctors Plus in 2016 with a view of providing "a completely different approach to family health" by combining traditional and holistic medicine. They are joined by other experienced doctors (Dr Melanie Simpson-GP, Dr Mary-Jane Stanley-GP, Dr Ayodhya Jaysinghe-GP, Dr Claire Palmer-GP, Dr Nicole Twomey-GP and Dr Andrew Chang-ENT surgeon) and allied health professionals (Danielle Werda-paediatric speech pathologist, Kylie Walsh and Christine Shearer-Smith-paediatric occupational therapists, Peita Hynes-dietitian, Julie Power-child/adolescent psychologist), Cate Rawlinson-psychologist/perinatal psychologist and Joanna Molloy lactation consultant. QML pathology is on site to perform blood tests and other investigations. We welcome patients of all ages 7 days a week.
We provide all general practice medical services-family health, pregnancy care, child health, women's health, men's health, aged care, travel medicine, individualised travel packs, all travel vaccinations, skin cancer checks, skin excisions, minor emergency care (eg grazes and lacerations) and mental health services.

We provide the full spectrum of occupational medicine services and Coal Board Medicals. Our doctors are Nominated Coal Board Medical Advisors through Corporate Doctors Plus.

We care for residents in aged care and are currently working at facilities operated by Tricare and Wesley Mission Qld.

Our bespoke clinic is fresh and light. It has a dedicated kid's waiting area and kid's vaccination room. There is ramp access for prams and the parking is a breeze.

Rockstars - I've been using this practise for years, even after moving further away. I've had appointments with quite a few different doctors, and they've all been super knowledgable and caring. Over the years there's been two or three more serious appointments, really appreciated the doctors calling a few days afterwards just to check-in and make sure I'm travelling ok. Already recommend any chance that I get - thanks team!

It is a bit dear, but most GPs have had to put their pricing up recently. There always seems to be an appointment available at late notice, which is a huge plus. Doctors are also really friendly too - and helpful - a rare find!

Dr Nixon had me on the WRONG dosage of BHRT which I was hoping would have helped hot flushes, night sweats & hair loss. Instead my hair started to fall out by the handfuls & I did not have another appointment for 5 months so I just stopped the troche about 10 days into the 2nd script & have been waiting for my hair to slowly stop falling. I have only recently researched that BHRT is no more Natural like I had thought being compounded than the hormones we get from the large pharmaceutical companies. In fact compounded hormones are not good at all from what I have been recently reading. Since stopping the HRT the hair loss has stopped so do your research before taking advice from any doctor

Had 4 consults for the same problem. First 2 consultations were fair one was extended and one was long. However by the 3rd and 4th appointment basically to confirm a diagnosis and having to pay full fee for standard consult seems a bit ridiculous. Usually by this stage it’ll be fair to have the consults bulk billed. Anyway. Paid though will have to reconsider for next time. All up have forked our $613 for the past 3 days.

Fantastic clinic, can not fault any of the doctors. Definitely recommend for anyone searching for a new doctor, for all the family. Phone and drive in appointments are available, as well as vaccinations and mental health services.

Absolute joke, refusing to see my daughter who is 10 months old as she has a cough. The cough is chronic and not related to a respiratory illness, she has tested negative to covid on multiple occasions. Offered to see a small baby in a hot car outside. Very very poor treatment. This place was great when it first opened but has slowly gone down the drain, the doctors are very judgemental and not up to date with their information or referral process I have had to tell them information they were unaware of. The wait times have also slowly become longer and longer and for a privately paid practice it is very poor. My last appointment I made took less than 5 minutes on the phone with little advice and was still charged an arm and a leg. Unfortunately will be needing to find a new doctor for the whole family. Would avoid this place unless you are desperate.

We would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at your practice for the magnificent way you organised the Covid19 vaccine. It was like clockwork - extremely professional, caring and friendly at all times. After arriving, we received clear instructions and the patient treatment areas were well-spaced and OUTDOORS - what a wonderful idea as an extra precaution. Also, we noticed that when each person left the premises, a staff member wiped the seats for the next patient. What more can we say! We would highly recommend your practice to everyone.

This practice charges like wounded bulls, $80 for a short phone consult to get test results, a consult that ANY other GP would bulk bill.  Was given some advice on treatment of a particular health issue which was incorrect and was told there was no pharmacological intervention option when in fact there was.  The one really good thing about this place is that it's usually easy to get an appointment, but there are far better GP's in the area who charge much smaller gaps.  They also charge $2 for disposable facemasks which is plain profiteering.

Dr Chelsie McMullin is a warm-hearted, positive, and very helpful doctor. I don’t speak good English but she’s always patient with me and she explains everything for me. She saw me and listened to me in a deep and caring way, and I felt like her medical knowledge was extensive. I also think she’s very reliable. I wish I had more vocabulary to express how amazing she is. Just want to recommend her to everyone.

I got a negative covid result so I called to get a face-face appt and they only offered a telephone consult. As I can't breathe properly I want a face-face to better determine the issue, not pay for a phone consult then have to come in anyway then paying twice! Well, they didn't seem to care. Have a face-face appt at a more understanding clinic tomorrow - guess I'll have to wait. Thanks for your lack of empathy Family Doctors plus. Giving 2 stars as I have had one positive experience there with Dr Chelsea.
