I recently had BILATERAL total knee replacement done by Dr. Gallagher. My hospital stay was only 5 days and I walked out unassisted. I am 8 weeks post-op and have been able to completely take care of myself now for around 2 weeks. His expertise, compassion and confidence helped put my mind at ease to make the decision to have ONE SURGERY ONE RECOVERY. The post-op regime to date is tried and true. The support staff in the office have been genuine and always available for assistance! I HIGHLY recommend this practice and would urge you to consider bilateral surgery if you are a candidate. I've had a 10 year history with significant arthritis in both knees and first saw Dr Gallagher at that time. After consultations and discussions, he suggested a trial of Synvisc injections in each knee with incredible results such that I was able to start a regular strength training workout program at Curves. In April 2017, I tore the meniscus from the root of my right knee - and recontacted John for the best options in managing this repair. Again, we were appreciative of the time and very open discussions we had with John, leading to a decision to attempt a Root Repair and Lateral Release. John was very clear with us that there was no guarantee he would be able to complete the repair due to the extent of the arthritis in my knee - we trusted his professionalism, commitment and skill to go ahead. John identified there was sufficient bone, muscle and tissue strength and health to proceed with the surgery (thank you!!!) The meniscus is now tied and attached to my tibia, the patella release completed and a general tidy-up of the knee. The recovery process was more significant than I'd expected and it was 2 1/2 months before I was walking unaided. The exercises and rehabilitation was thoroughly planned, explained and supervised by the clinical team at the QKSC, while my local sports physio supported and worked with me on a weekly basis. At 5 months I was back doing a full workout and coaching boxing and cardio classes at Curves. At some time in the future there will be further surgery as I still have severe arthritis in both knees but, thanks to John and his team, I haven again been given conservative options rather than jumping to knee replacements. When the time comes, yes, I'll unreservedly be back for a consultation with John, confident that he will again consider the range of options at that time. Janelle.

In August 2015 I had my right knee replaced by Dr Gallagher. It was a huge success. I couldn't have been happier with the result. On 23/2/18, Dr Gallagher performed an Arthroscopy on my left knee because I couldn't walk without acute pain. Again, it was a huge success. I don't have any pain in my left knee. I cannot speak highly enough about his skill as a surgeon, his thoroughness and attention to detail and his caring demeanour. Sincerely Arthur Paull PS I am a very hard man to please

Dr John Gallagher did a bilateral knee replacement on my knees. From day one i felt completely comfortable with him and his wonderful team in the Practice. He did an extremely good job on my knees and was a great comfort to me during my stay in hospital.(i was in for Mothers Day and he even popped in then and also had a chat with my family who were visiting). Medical staff would look after me extremely well when i told them who my surgeon was..his reputation is that he does things to perfection...a trait i respect and admire. He has a fantastic back up team in the Practice too and you are looked after incredibly well. Thank you Dr John Gallagher for my new life..i can whip around the shops now at top speed..and its only 3 months since my operation. He is wonderful!

I first met Dr Gallagher in late 2016. Previous to our meeting I had spent years searching for a Doctor who was capable enough to correctly diagnose and treat my debilitating knee pain. When I finally had been referred to his practice I could barely walk. I was extremely taken a back by how carefully Dr Gallagher was able to diagnose my condition and offer solutions to remove it. Based on the fact that I am in my early 40s Dr Gallagher explained that I could only have a certain amount of knee replacements which rendered the idea futile. We then discussed the option of a half knee replacement which would have left me with some limitations in activity range. Finally he put a HTO~High Tibial Osteotomy on the table for me to consider. I am sure that one of the websites information places best describes what is involved. It is a process and I am not going to lie and say that there isn't a great deal of hard work and dedication involved in Surgery, Recovery and Rehabilitation but the thing that makes it bearable is the incredible team that makes up the Surgery. Their help, compassion, efficiency and dedication to making your experience as comfortable as possible while at the same time knowing what is possible to give you the greatest opportunity for a future devoid of knee problems. I ended up following the path that Dr Gallagher suggested and had a HTO. I can say that with all certainty that this procedure saved my mobility. I can walk again without painkillers or aides. I cannot thank Dr Gallagher and his team enough and if I had to do it again I would .
