Avoid Europcar, I received a confirmed quote saying this was a guaranteed price. On returning car I was charged an extra $65, without being told. Have sent in complaints and they pretty much just told me " you signed the rental Agreement". Never again, a guaranteed price from them means nothing.

Myself and partner hired a car for 48 hours at the Richmond branch in Melbourne. The online reservation was made easy but in store the service is a let down to say the least. Long story short is they charged us twice for the car rental, on two seperate cards and were rude, and blamed it on the system when we called them about it. They no responsibility for it or showed any urgency to refund the money that was illegally taken from our account. We have the money back now, it was not worth the hassle to rent from this company. So many other competitors that show genuine service and better prices.

Europcar's service is utterly disgraceful. I will never use them again, once they have your credit card details they charge you however they see fit! We returned our car to Brisbane airport at 9AM and they didn't check the car in until 1PM, meaning that we got charged for an extra days car hire. I questioned this with them and they agreed to change the invoice to one day, imagine my surprise when the charge for 2 days was $198 and the charge for 1 day dropped to $196! This is a difference $2, when the rental agreement showed a total cost of the car hire for one day as $132. Somehow the initial AGREED one way charge of $25 has now jumped to $80. How are they able to just change supposedly fixed pricing at their own discretion without any further consultation with the person that is paying for this? The Europcar call centre are utterly useless, never have I come across so many people so adamant that the misinformation they are providing me with is correct. It has been 4 weeks since my trip and I am still no closer to a resolution to my issue despite having provided all of the backing evidence showing the initial agreed rental cost. I was promised that I would be able to speak to someone in Australia if I called back during business hours. I called during business hours and was not transferred to someone within Australia. Very disappointing service.

AVOID THIS DEPOT. This depot are terrible, I'd avoid them at all costs. After returning my vehicle at the agreed time and on the agreed date. They then accused me of not returning my vehicle and charged me for three extra days rentals and associated fees and a vehicle recovery fee. The customer service is also appalling! It's a total scam! Now I'm left battling their accounts dept to recover my money the illegally took.

I would like to say that I’m completely disgusted on europcar, we been loyal clients for over 9 years hiring cars up to 3 times per year and we never had a problem till now . They are blaming us to damaging a rental car on Gold Coast from the 12/10/17 to 16/10/17 I want to point out 1- car was not in the bay they said the car was 2- car was filthy in and out 3- car was damage all around and if it was more damage in the car you can’t see it because it was filthy . 4- I practically didn’t use the car as my son end up in the hospital and been in bed at the apartment and the car was in the garage all the time. 5- I return the car at 4am in the morning on the 16th of October 2017 and the car wasn’t inspected till 8:24 am the car was wash in the photo so any of the incompetent personnel they have can scratch the car because they rush and now they trying to blame us . We inspected the car all the time before returning to make sure the car is in the same condition us it was on pick up and it was . We are completely upset this is based on principle and honesty . We didn’t damage the car and if we did I wouldn’t denie it . But we didn’t do it the car was sitting on the parking lot of europcar for over 4 hours , anything can happen in those 4 hours and you are blaming on us , we look after the cars every time we hire from you but unfortunately I will not use your company again . I’m a honest and loyal client and I don’t want to do business with a company that doesn’t have the same standards that I do . If you don’t drop this claim I will definitely call consumer affairs and if I have to take it to court I will .
