I first came here solo when I was new to Melbourne and this place just welcomed me in as if I was their own. I have since came back several times with friends and family. It is an awesome place! Very genuine. Absolutely delicious meals every single time. One of the best restaurants in the whole of Melbourne.
Great service and food.We were running late and needed to get to a show on time. Once I mentioned this they were fantastic, took our order quickly and brought drinks and food with a minimum of fuss. Food was delicious and we made it to the show with time to spare. The price was more than reasonable and the servings were large. Highly recommended.
The chicken curry was oily, smelly, had lots of chicken fat and gristle, and made me sick after the meal. The interior was cosy, but also a bit run down. The lady who greeted me was very kind and good with customer service, but I was the only person in there for a busy Friday night. Very low quality food.
I went there last week. While the restaurant has massive hall and good decor, but it was freezing inside as there was no heating. We tried both Veg and Non Veg. We all were of the opinion that all food quality and service was terrible. Somethings were extremely spicy, somethings were very bland. I would just rate it average. I don't think I would ever visit again or suggest to any one else.
I have no doubt in saying that it is so far the best and the biggest restaurant of Melbourne. I went to Ethnic India on mother's Day. I am very impressed with their set up. Marvelous lounges and dining area, private halls for functions. Never ever seen such a set up in an Indian Restaurant. If the restaurant is superb in Cosmetics it also excels in their food. Tried Fish Tikka and Gobhi Manchurian. Absolutely Mouth Watering.The staff was friendly service was pretty quick. Will Definitely Come back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.......
Most terrible food and service ever witnessed in Australia. I have been told its owned by Ace Real Estate Laverton and owners have got no idea what needs to be done to serve good food. I took take away and found fly in the food. Curries are old and heated over and over again which is why the taste is so bad. Sweets are third class and will suggest people to go to Sweet India to get taste and value for money. Presentation is good when you enter in the place but in the end proves to be a nightmare. Will never ever go in again.
Went for dinner on my son's birthday. One of the entrees was a chicken kebab. Found a HAIR stuck in kebab. Showed it to manager who asked me to pull it out. Later on the owner Narinder Chowdhary argued on to say it's a fresh hair and was not in the dish. He was instead blaming me for putting the hair inside the kebab. He further added "take the hair and go ahead to sue me. I don't care". Will NEVER go back again. Never recommend to anyone. Disgusting customer service.
Will never go there again. Asked for a mild biryani and they served us a bowl of biryani with lots of spices. It was very oily. Too much salt in the vegetable samosa. Eating the chicken curry was like having 100 jalapenos with a chilli sauce. Butter naan was just a plain roti with some oil in it. Will never recommend this place to anyone. terrible food, terrible place
It's always very nice experience of having dinner at Ethnic India. It's one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. Food is always delicious and ambiance is great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED....
Bought boondi laddo a few days ago...Firstly out of the fridge....didn't bother to show me. Got home opened the box...stinking smell. Probably had been made long time ago. Tell the customer if they are not fresh. Taste yuk threw in the bin. Never getting sweets from there.
