Very busy. Service was quick. Had heard good things about this place but food didn't live up to expectation. Particularly disappointed with the mud cake. Was more like a chocolate sponge rather than a rich mud chocolate cake. Food was presented nicely.

I ate twice here in the past week with three others. On one of those days (Christmas time) it was very busy but the professional staff here had us seated after a few minutes. The meals here are large and of a high quality. Hence our return trip a few days later. The wait staff are always interesting and always non Kiwi The Hot Chocolate here is to die for. It’s worth visiting just for that alone. I will be returning many times and it’s my place to eat in Taupo.

Simply one of my top 5 restaurants, the service and food are constantly outstanding and great value for money. Lovely being able to sit and look out over the lake and watch the people passing by. Very clean and tidy, modern and bright restaurant, always busy here so book or be prepared to wait, but it's well worth it.

Love this place. Great food and vibe. Staff are very nice to. Definitely recommend trying the hot chocolate. The best!!!

Nothing quite like a surprise 15% up charge on everything! Had the service been even decent I would understand on a busy holiday... (mind you reviews all suggest service is great) Lovely and attentive hostess. Busy New Year’s Day so wasn’t expecting much from a waterside tourist joint. Good coffee. Long wait for food. Had to request attention from a waitress as several tables got sat after us and served before us. No one checked after our food got dropped 40 min later. Would have liked water and so on. Then we were slapped with the up charge after no one mentioned it (I guess there really wasn’t someone taking care of us so who would have mentioned it anyway!) apparently - according to the snappy barista at checkout it is listed in tiny print on the menu. Clearly that 15% extra earning should have been applied to brining in extra staff for the day. Surprise 🌟 and happy new year!
