We first discovered this café about two years ago and it really stuck with us, so we came back again. We loved everything, the atmosphere, the food, and the amazing coffee.nWe ordered a cappuccino and an iced coffee, both tasted great. For breakfast, we had the Kiwi Farmhouse Breakfast and the Truck Stop Pancake Stack. Just like last time, everything was spot on.nDefinitely worth coming back for!
The food was fine, but we noticed that the final price charged was higher than the menu price we saw.nnI ordered the lamb shank, which was listed as $32.9 on the menu, but it was charged at $39.9 at checkout.nUnfortunately, we didn’t take a photo of the menu at the time, so we couldn’t confirm whether the prices had been updated.nnAt this price point, it didn’t feel as good value as we expected.nJust something future customers may want to double-check before ordering.
unforgettable place. The vibe by the lake is perfect spot to chill and flex your foodie vibes. I went all out and got that crazy waffle thing with meat in the middle and ice cream on top and yep they threw a spoon of chili oil on it. At first I was like, wait, what?! but holy heck it actually made the whole combo hit perfectly! 10/10 would come back just for this view and wild flavour mashup
We come to taupo every year for a weekend,decided to come to Dixie browns for tea and glad we did,the food overall was outstanding,packing lots of flavours,but most of all was the service we recieved from Naumara,her bubbly personality and attention to detail was second to none,we were really looked after by her,my wife working in international hospitality was taken by her work ethic,well done,highly recommend this restaurant for food and servicenWe will definitely come back here again
Great spot to brunch looking across Lake Taupo. Extensive menu, friendly staff, and delicious brunch. Cornstack was primo, as was the Eggs Benedict. Delish flat whites. Classic brunch fare.
