2024: This Maccas gets a 5/5 because you can dine inside a plane, which I'd say is fair.nThe aircraft has had a very colourful history, has been utilised fully to it's potential and lives on to serve the fast food giant.
Just a McDonald’s to be clear, but got a cool seating area inside an actual old plane. You can see the cockpit and there are information boards about the plane. Not that many seats in the plane but it wasn’t full when I went to take a look around noon on a weekday. You might get disturbed by tourists coming by and taking pictures if you decide to dine in the plane.
I don't do McDonald's but I enjoy the soft serve and mozzarella sticks, got some of those, they were fresh, queues are always long for this place but managed to get served quickly.

Busy restaurant, Taupo is a tourist destination and there is only one Macca’s in town so no wonder it was so busy. One of the world’s coolest Macca’s.
