Went for an early Saturday dinner from 5:30. High end hot pot with a well trained staff and high quality food. A fusion of high end dining in a hotpot style of self serving. Ingredients of high quality and plated impeccably. Serving sizes are reasonable but not large. Some rare hard to find ingredients offered as well. Soups bases are excellent and single pot per person style is great for large parties not wanting to mix soup bases or stretching their arms out across the table. Expensive for a hot pot meal but justified in my opinion. I think you are not paying cooking technique but paying for plating skills. Main issue was session timing. We were given 90min from seating to finish with no leeway at all. I'd suggest you keep the ordering minimal and not expect to catch up too much with big groups. Pricing was $300 between 4 people. Probably over ordered by $50-80. no alcohol at this meal Overall satisfied with quality, high end hotpot dining with a limited session timing being the only issue. 4stars.

This is my favourite place to have hot pot in Melbourne. You have the choice of having your own pot so in case you don’t like a certain broth but your friends do, it’s okay! There are also such a huge variety of things to order that you will find something for everyone. You will also get a chance to eat some parts of animals you may have never tried before. The sauce station is my personal favourite as you can make your own sauce and is detailed in ingredients and recommended pairings. Some sauces go great with beef while others with sea food etc. If I want hot pot I usually dont go anywhere else!

Definitely my favourite place for Hot Pot in Melbourne. A fine dining experience on a relatively simple meal. There's so many fresh ingredients, to choose from - the bigger the group, the better! There'll be something for everyone's palette.

Dainty is the biggest Sichuan Chinese restaurant chain in Melbourne. The one on Lonsdale street would be their flagship store for hot pots. Hot pot is very much like Shabu Shabu or steam boat. You dip the most fresh ingredients into hot broth. It is a very interactive way of eating food. When you combine fresh Australian produce with traditional Chinese flavour, the result is superb. I would even say it’s better than most of the hot pots I tried in China. Now lets talk about the issues. Just like any popular asian eateries, customer service is not always attentive. They don’t take reservations. So you have to queue up for a table. It is probably not a place where you come for a date, but a great place to hang out with your mates and try some authentic Chinese food.
