What can we say about our experience at The Commonwealth? In the words of a legend “Simply The Best !”. The heritage charm and ambiance of the building suited our needs and the relaxed atmosphere made everyone feel at ease. The food and service are of a very high standard and the staff are more than willing to help you. One staff member took our photos for us and did an awesome job of that as well! If you are looking for a great space for a welcoming and authentic get together in Townsville, The Commonwealth Hotel is the Top Spot.
We frequently visit the Commonwealth Hotel due to its kid-friendly atmosphere and chill vibe. The menu is very inclusive & the scallops are highly recommended! We booked the balcony for a large group and received exceptional service from Louise and the crew. Thank you!
We had a big group of 20+ adults and kids on Sunday at the Commonwealth. It was just excellent. Friendly, efficient service - the scallops were TOP NOTCH, all the food came out quickly. The kids had a blast. Live music. Good breeze. The adults had a blast - and may have enjoyed a spicy margarita using Sheldon's secret sauce TM 2025. Highly recommend.
The food was delicious and plentiful, kids meals were great, excellent value for money. Lovely outdoor area, unfortunately we booked on a heatwave day for lunch, but they had big bottles of chilled water in a fridge and we were able to help ourselves. Pity we didn't take our swimming gear or we could have cooled off in the pool. Service was exemplary.
Went in with the family after a cowboys game it’s was really busy with functions . Kids loved the play ground and the live music set a great scene in the beer garden . Steak sandwich was great. Bit of a wait on food and a wrong dish came our way but the team sorted it out pretty quickly
