Hello Townsville!

The Independent Meat Company is proud to join the Townsville community and announce the I.M.C Steak House on Palmer Street. The I.M.C Steak House will showcase the excellence of Australian farmers from Cape Grim to Cape York.

But what really makes the I.M.C Steak House different from other steakhouses? Well, we want everyone to experience the awesome quality that our hard-working farmers can produce. We want everyone to try the 'fancy cuts' and we want to dispel the myth that 'great' and 'Australian' must be 'expensive'.

The prices of the steaks sold at the I.M.C Steak House are based on the wholesale market price - so don't be surprised if the prices go up or down a bit week-to-week. We aim to deliver outstanding value so that everyone can take a crack at a good, Australian, steak.

Of course we will also serve a range of fantastic Australian wines to accompany your meal and will also serve a small but delicious selection of non-steak meals for those poor souls who are dragged to a steakhouse by their friends or wife...

Been to IMC a few times before and had always tried different types of steak the whole time and they were good. We had been adventurous the last visit and had gone with the 1kg steak each! The portion is Extremely huge! We end up having to do the take away =P. The Bake potatoe is really lovely and the string onions too! A highly recommended place whenever you want a steak dinner!
Excellent steaks. Arguably the best place for steak in town. Whatever cut you want , they probably have it. $35+ / steak and ~$60 for Waygu. This place arguably has better steak than both casino and A touch of salt. Unless you have a big party, I never really have any problem finding a table for 2-4 people. They have a bar to sit down if you waiting for your table. Due to the acoustic issue, it’s very difficult to have a conversation. Acoustic inside is not great so it’s very noisy sitting inside. Sitting outside could be great depends on the weather. Be careful of the mozzies another problem with sitting outside is cigarettes smell from the people walking pass. Parking tips: Limited parking right at the front, but I could always find a spot around the corner not too far away.
Outstanding selection of meat available at very reasonable prices. I had the 600g rump, medium. At almost an inch thick it was cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth tender with delicately rendered fat. Side of green beans in lemon complemented the bearnaise sauce.
It is a place worth the name Steak House. I think $7 for a gin and tonic is a good price. The staff were all kind. If I come back next time, I'll order the sauce and salad dressing on the side. I don't like mustard, I hope there's another dressing. Overall, it was a good experience.
Just ordered the rib Fillet steak the top shelf and it was heavenly! I asked the staff what they recommended for the ultimate experience and they gave me the rub down and recommended a meal that was so delicious that I am so full and feel like I could order it again. The experience from the staff, the restaurant and the food was all super incredible!
All the food was very delicious. Friendly service and food was served quickly even though it was a very busy time of year. Only issue was with the doors to the restaurant being open meant there were some flies buzzing around.Food: 5/5
Tried the super premium but loved the 250g rump tonight. They’re all good options really. Gets a lovely char from cooking well. Thanks to Zoe for suggesting the Brussel sprouts they were amazing!!! Also the Idaho potato was cooked to perfection tonight. Super stoked. Cheers
Wow,wow,wow. What can I say. The meal was superb, the Brussels sprouts I have never tasted anything like them.The meat was cooked to my liking. You can only book a table if you have 6 or more, so you need to get there as so as it opens, as it fills up very quickly.
Super steak restaurant in Townsville, recommended to us by a local. Superb rib fillet paired with a Penfolds shiraz. Delightful. Very popular.Food: 4/5
Biggest compliment I can give is that my medium rare steak was actually cooked medium rare, so often places overcook. The steak was fantastic my compliments to the grill master. Staff were also plentiful and friendly and cleared away our plates promptly.
