Great food at a reasonable price, good steaks, great chicken parmi and pork belly, nice desserts
Parmy was well done, should’ve ordered it medium but wasn’t asked. Exactly 14 chips. Salad removed but was supplied. Bar staff was lovely.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Good food. Great for large groups and functions.
By chance I discovered the Metropole for my latest Saturday / Sunday breakfast treat. Pretty standard breakfast menu so I went with my usual Eggs Benedict with Salmon and wasn't disappointed. Price was reasonable, food was delicious and plentiful, all with a great view of the harbour when sitting outside. At 10am, the venue was quiet, service was prompt and I managed to get a car park just outside. The amenities were clean. I'll be back to check out their lunches but for now, the Metropole is my new 'go-to' place for my occasional week-end breakfast treat!!
10 of us all very happy with our meals. Main course lovely & several had a delightful dessert. Sitting outside had a lovely, quite atmosphere with a good view. They just took awhile to clean up after us but otherwise very impressed.
Celebrated friends 60th birthday tonight. Food and service fantastic. Great atmosphere.
We stayed at the attached Oaks apartments. Day one of our stay, we had breakfast at the hotel Saturday 12th Oct. The food was really nice and the service was lovely. The waitress was really friendly and it was a great start to the day. The two stars are solely for our first day experience. Day two we decided to go for breakfast again. What a mistake. From the outset, the girl taking our order was completely unprofessional. Within the first 30 seconds she told us that she'd drank too much the night before and wanted to go home. Our food took forever and was cold upon arrival, our coffees completely forgotten. When I alerted her to this, she began making them, only to become sidetracked several times. Once we finally got our coffees, my husband's was completely wrong and not drinkable. My latte luke warm. He returned his coffee and voiced his displeasure. He was offered a refund for the coffee, but declined. In our opinion a total refund would have been more applicable. Such a shame because the service we had the previous day was so great. The food isn't cheap either. It's basic breakfast fare at upmarket cafe prices. My toasted sandwich was pre packaged but must have cost almost $10 for ham, cheese and tomato. We're here for a couple more days and intended to eat here again, but after today we won't be. Perhaps some staff training in regards to professionalism is needed. Edit: After contacting management when we got home, things were dealt with very satisfactorily and professionally.
Whenever i see the word 'Studio' in a room description, I get a bit nervous. I've stayed in some studio rooms no bigger than a dog kennel. No need to worry about that here though. The room was a good size pretty big for a 'studio', and even had a balcony. But most impressive was the amount of amenities they've put in there. 2 burenr stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, full sized fridge. And yet none of it got in the way or made the room feel too small! Location on Palmer St is excellent, with plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Not too far from the new stadium either. Would definitely stay here again
Thanks for an awesome night on Friday! We celebrated my brother's 60th birthday and it was such a great night. Catherine the Functions Manager was amazing to deal with and she served us all so well. Great food, great service, very happy guests!
Cheap and delicious meals. Had the same meal 2 nights in a row because it was that good. Drinks are very reasonably priced also. Nice clean premises. Literally 10 meters from the Oaks Hotel behind it. Convenient if you are staying there.
