CommBank is a great bank on many counts, but after 27 years I recently decided to close all my accounts due to its massive investment in environmentally destructive fossil fuels - $3.9Billion last year alone - the biggest funders in Australia. I choose not to put my money toward such polluting coal projects. All eyes are on CommBank's potential contribution to Adani's massive coal mine in the Galilee Basin: the next couple of months will be a telling time for the bank's environmental ethics. Until I'm convinced of it's solid environmental responsibility, I choose NOT to support CommBank.
