Bad enough to disrespect customers by making them serve themselves one staffed checkout if its working, and to supercharge profits by partaking in deliberately designed deceptive consumer conduct, but dont push the envelope by allowing staff to abuse customers because their leaning tower of Pisa like stack of slippery over packaged strawberries failed to stay stacked when one piece of the tower was removed from the top mind you! . Not our fault you work for a company trying to make you obsolete, go talk to your corporate ladder climbing boss. I have full respect for workers but I wont take shit from them!
Always has misleading signage. I don’t know if they just don’t take down old signs or whether they don’t use their computer pricing system properly but they won’t even honour it when you show them the sign. Showed them this sign next to lamb leg steak today which clearly shows lamb leg steak included in the picture on the offer and they wouldn’t honour the 2 for $15. The rude young girl who went to check just shoved the packet back at the lady working self serve and said “nah it’s not 2 for $15 … it’s scotch fillet”. So she didn’t even check the right fridge - she checked the beef fridge, not the lamb fridge. If she had have checked the lamb fridge, she would have seen the exact sign I was talking about with the picture of the product I was holding. I didn’t have any more time to waste on this whole incompetent scene and had to just leave. Very angry.
I have shopped at this grocery store since it first opened. It always had a local feel with opportunities to interact with the friendly staff who know me by name, and I know their names. It's disappointing that the recent renovations have resulted in only one customer service point for shoppers. The frontline staff are doing a wonderful job of dealing with complaints but it seems to be a huge reduction in service in a time when human interaction is needed more than ever and jobs are disappearing. It's a disappointing change.
Same as every other Coles around the country in terms of layout, product range and quality. Located in a newish commercial / residential complex just behind North Burleigh beach, convenient to get to if you’re staying in an apartment at this end of the beach.
