Living both in Kingston and overseas we sometimes shop at Coles Manuka. We have to say that overall this store rates very poorly, particularly for “fresh” produce. This section is disappointing to say the least. It is never fully stocked. There is nothing fresh about it. There is little variety. The cheese section fares better. The cleaning section too. The gluten free section is poor and again never fully stocked often empty. The meat section is terrible. For such a nice area it’s a shame. Kingston has created a nice ambience-a European feel. Supabarn may be more expensive but the selection and quality of produce is excellent. I suggest Coles do a reconnaissance/comparison with chains such as CSfresh Singapore or even basic supermarkets in Fiji. The aisles in Coles Manuka are disorganised. The staff in the main are friendly though.nTo then charge $3 for cark parking is an insult. No wonder the car park is empty. But to park outside you face homeless people and abuse. Which is why I think Coles are charging $3 which is not much. But is blatant exploitation.nWe don’t recommend this supermarket at all. It is very basic, not clean and understocked.nIt’s Canberra people’s. It’s Manuka. Do better. If places like Vietnam can offer awesome world class gourmet shopping experiences then why can’t we? Shameful. Go to Supabarn or to Woolworths Canberra Centre or Majura.
Today I waited 35 minutes in-store to speak with someone about my click-and-collect order. After raising the issue with two staff members, a call was put over the loudspeaker, yet no one came to assist me. When I politely asked again, one staff member laughed before putting out another call for a manager, which was both disappointing and unprofessional.nnI eventually spoke with two managers, the first of whom could not provide any indication of how much longer my order would take. When my order finally arrived, I was left to pack everything myself at the service desk.nnOverall, this was an extremely poor customer service experience and very frustrating.
Never order online. Over Christmas my order was stolen. The man arrived at my house took photos of the shopping left at my gate , then repacked them into his car and left . I have security cameras and I proved this to the store and called police and it took 6 weeks to refund the money and I didn’t get any Christmas groceries as they wouldn’t believe me at first. The police has to step in. Absolutely disgusting and after personally attending the store to talk to manager the uber driver was there and lied and said he gave it to me. And I worked out that the manager and the uber were friends and stealing off many people over Christmas. I hope they both got fired but it took a long time to get a refund and they gave me store credit . Stupid run corrupt business
Tonight on 13 May around 5pm, I had a very disappointing experience at the self-checkout area. There were no staff around to assist customers. I saw someone wearing a staff uniform checking out items himself, but I wasn’t sure whether he was working at the time. After he finished purchasing a drink and stepped aside, I realised he was actually the staff member responsible for the counter.nnI needed 4 rainchecks done. Although my paper had 6 items written on it, I only wanted 4 processed, but he refused to help and had a very rude attitude. He simply told me to find the duty manager instead of assisting properly. The issue was then resolved very quickly by the duty manager, which made the interaction even more frustrating.nnEarlier before coming in, I had also called the store to check stock availability, and I believe the same staff member answered the phone. He didn’t even ask which product I was referring to and immediately said it wasn’t available, even though he appeared to be the counter staff responsible for these enquiries.nnOverall, the customer service was extremely unhelpful and dismissive.
Popped in to grab some supplies for a road trip south of the state.nCouldn't find what we were looking for so we approached the lady at the service counter. She stopped what she was doing to help us out and she actually took us to what we were looking for. This was a lovely thing for her to do to help me find an item.nOverall the store is large and well stocked. The in store bakery had just put out some fresh packets of pizza bread, which were still warm so we got a pack to enjoy as a snack in the car.nThere were plenty of self service checkouts available also.
