Living both in Kingston and overseas we sometimes shop at Coles Manuka. We have to say that overall this store rates very poorly, particularly for “fresh” produce. This section is disappointing to say the least. It is never fully stocked. There is nothing fresh about it. There is little variety. The cheese section fares better. The cleaning section too. The gluten free section is poor and again never fully stocked often empty. The meat section is terrible. For such a nice area it’s a shame. Kingston has created a nice ambience-a European feel. Supabarn may be more expensive but the selection and quality of produce is excellent. I suggest Coles do a reconnaissance/comparison with chains such as CSfresh Singapore or even basic supermarkets in Fiji. The aisles in Coles Manuka are disorganised. The staff in the main are friendly though.nTo then charge $3 for cark parking is an insult. No wonder the car park is empty. But to park outside you face homeless people and abuse. Which is why I think Coles are charging $3 which is not much. But is blatant exploitation.nWe don’t recommend this supermarket at all. It is very basic, not clean and understocked.nIt’s Canberra people’s. It’s Manuka. Do better. If places like Vietnam can offer awesome world class gourmet shopping experiences then why can’t we? Shameful. Go to Supabarn or to Woolworths Canberra Centre or Majura.
Today I waited 35 minutes in-store to speak with someone about my click-and-collect order. After raising the issue with two staff members, a call was put over the loudspeaker, yet no one came to assist me. When I politely asked again, one staff member laughed before putting out another call for a manager, which was both disappointing and unprofessional.nnI eventually spoke with two managers, the first of whom could not provide any indication of how much longer my order would take. When my order finally arrived, I was left to pack everything myself at the service desk.nnOverall, this was an extremely poor customer service experience and very frustrating.
Shocked at the state of this supermarket. I’ve never seen a Cole’s like it. It was cluttered, dirty and highly disorganised. Disappointed to see the staff member at the self service area attending to a small child who called her Mum, the little boy was sitting on a milk crate with a packaged lunch. She seemed more interested in making sure he was quiet rather than picking the rubbish up off the floor. Trip hazards everywhere empty boxes from the packers just left on the floor. Carts blocking the aisles.nnWho is responsible for managing this store? This store needs an urgent review be Coles management.
Popped in to grab some supplies for a road trip south of the state.nCouldn't find what we were looking for so we approached the lady at the service counter. She stopped what she was doing to help us out and she actually took us to what we were looking for. This was a lovely thing for her to do to help me find an item.nOverall the store is large and well stocked. The in store bakery had just put out some fresh packets of pizza bread, which were still warm so we got a pack to enjoy as a snack in the car.nThere were plenty of self service checkouts available also.
Coles Manuka is a reliable and well-stocked supermarket. I’ve had a good experience shopping here the store is clean, organised, and easy to navigate. It’s convenient for picking up everyday groceries, and the staff are helpful. A great local option for quick and efficient shopping.
