I have been shopping at this Coles supermarket for over 20 years, and it used to be the best supermarket ever. They always kept fresh vegetables and fruits in stock. However, over the last few years, products are often unavailable, and most of the fresh produce is no longer fresh. I frequently find moldy items, and green vegetables can't be kept for more than a few days. I often discover that fruits are bruised, and whenever I pick them up, they feel quite cold, as if they have been frozen.nnA few years ago, when the fruits and vegetables started aging, they would put them on sale, but they were still fresh enough to buy. These days, I have to pay full price, yet the produce often goes bad before I can eat it. Most of the time, it's already spoiled.nnRegarding the staff, I’ve noticed that many of them are Indian. While some are friendly, others can be quite rude. For example, I recently saw a staff member stocking mangoes by throwing them around, even though he noticed I was watching. I bought one, but when I opened it at home, it was bruised.nnEven the milk I regularly buy is often unavailable.nnI’ve had enough of shopping at this Manuka location. Considering it is situated in one of the most prestigious areas, the standard has significantly declined.
Coles Manuka is a fantastic supermarket that offers outstanding accessibility and high-quality products. The bakery is really good. However, customer service has evolved dramatically. Staff were once much more helpful and willing to assist, but now only one or two employees would answer enquiries if you can't find something. They are no longer eager to walk with you and guide you like they once did. I feel this shift is due to the current staff manager, who does not assist and appears to discourage others from doing so as well. He often says they are too busy and asks you not to bother them.

Popped in to grab some supplies for a road trip south of the state.nCouldn't find what we were looking for so we approached the lady at the service counter. She stopped what she was doing to help us out and she actually took us to what we were looking for. This was a lovely thing for her to do to help me find an item.nOverall the store is large and well stocked. The in store bakery had just put out some fresh packets of pizza bread, which were still warm so we got a pack to enjoy as a snack in the car.nThere were plenty of self service checkouts available also.
I live not far away so have shopped here regularly since it opened. It’s a sad place, chronically untidy and with many vacant shelves. Recently the whole store has been rearranged for no apparent benefit. Glad that Supabarn in Kingston offers a happier alternative.
