The female worker named Tina is very argumentative, arrogant and unpleasant.nI, like most other customers just want to do our purchase and go on about our lives but Tina seeks to start drama and arguments even when I try to keep my answers short with a smile just for the sake of avoiding drama with her and leave that area asap the payment is complete.
Money grubs. They've turned every single assisted checkout in the shop into self serve registers. The only place you can still be served by a human is at the cigarette kiosk, which, of course, is outside the store so you can't do your shopping there.nnTheir fruit and veg range is often quite poor. Lots of low quality and old produce, or they just don't stock whatever you're after in the first place.nnThey've now also installed horrible cattle gate things that randomly decide you've stolen something and try to close while you're walking through them, or just before you get to them.nnIf anybody gets caught by them, you should know that they are on wheels. You can just walk through them and they will open. They do set off a siren, but you can just keep walking. False imprisonment is illegal. If they want to perform their bizarre version of a citizen's arrest, they need hard evidence you've stolen something. A robot freaking out because you took your hoodie off and it can't recognise you anymore is NOT hard evidence.nnLikewise, if you get accused of stealing something, and you know you have, in fact, not stolen anything, you're under no obligation to argue with a manager. You can just walk out. You can't just profile people and then try to lock them in your store because you think there's a 5% chance they may possibly have stolen something. That's just not how it works.
I had a very upsetting experience at this Coles location. Despite arriving 17 minutes before closing time, my companion and I were rushed by the security guard who was incredibly rude and dismissive. The sales assistant on the floor made us feel judged and unwelcome, and her behavior came across as blatantly racist.nnTo make things worse, when we tried to get assistance multiple times, the sales assistant on the floor couldn’t hear us because the security guard was busy having a loud personal argument—apparently with his mother, according to the sales assistant. This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable in a public-facing role.nnThe sales assistant was nosy asking what me and my companion were talking in our language and was trying to justify for the security guard by being rude to us which was none of her concern.nnIf Coles is open until a certain time, customers should be treated with respect up until that time. No one should feel unwelcome, especially due to race or background. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses both the poor customer service and the inappropriate conduct of staff.
I didn’t buy anything I was walking out they closed the exit door and asked the Asian lady her colleague no stocking means if I stolen anything than he opened door for me to exit. They hurt my feeling I’ll never go there again.
