Literally the worst Coles in Melbourne I believe. As do many others.nThe deli… won’t slice cold meats properly or thin if we ask.nThe shop, always has empty shelves and dirty floors and crowded aisles with stock blocking aisles meaning it’s hard to get by.nToday.. Saturday.. only two people on registers to serve. I asked 3 staff to get help. The first two did nothing. The third, a great guy called “priority 1” over the loud speaker 3 times and I could see him with his arms up gesturing to someone to get their butt moving. The lines for people with full trolleys was very long and for a supermarket on a Saturday to think that two registers only is okay is not okay!nnAnyway. Doubt that this will say anything to the Coles hierarchy but they really need to put some effort into fixing this supermarket because I don’t shop at the deli anymore because it’s so bad and am quickly moving to a different supermarket because of lack of everything really.
I'm heavily pregnant and decided to try and do the shopping by myself for the first time in a long time, at Coles big mistake in my behalf. I was in excruciating pain after my pelvis decided to give up during my shop. I didn't mention anything to anyone and tried to see if I could hobble my way through the check out and to my car. After standing around in the store for a very long time, I decided to call my husband while he was at work, and get him to try and help me get out of coles and to the car. My husband was going to be quite some time, so I went to the check out alone. The kindest lady helped me and truly went above and beyond. I believe her name was Tory and she was working at the check out. I don't know if she could see the pain I was trying to hide or was just genuinely a lovely human who treats all customers like this! But I was struggling to load my shopping correctly and was pretty much throwing things into the cart and hoping they would all fit. She kindly got me a new trolley, unloaded and reloaded all of the things, asked if I had someone to help me to my car and was just an all round kind and caring lady. She offered help to my car, but at that stage I couldn't walk any further and didnt want to take up anymore of her time, and said my husband was going to help me. I waited outside of coles on the bench seats and felt extremely grateful for Tory and her compassion. I really hope that coles gives her a nice bonus or the recognition she deserves
The fresh food section is good. But it would be better if they sold Japanese sweet potatoes which taste like chestnuts and help prevent bowel cancer.
My fiancé and I bought our favourite snackies here, which made us very happy! nHowever, I removed one star because the bottled water packs here were so pricey much cheaper at Woolworths!
A store lacking in customer service with many unfriendly employees who would not bother to help customers to clarify if they have stock in the storeroom for items not on shelves and where stock trolley's are left in the small isles so that customers cannot even move in both directions. The other thing is that I once went early in the morning recently to purchase items and the registers were closed so I asked the Indian lady from India working there that day about the time the registers would open but she was rude, probably realised my accent was different to hers as I am NOT from India but from another Western country, so treated me differently. Makes me wonder how the Indian lady from India got the job in the store when I applied so many times before to supermarkets here when at UNI and after studying but could not get my foot in the door? Not surprised as I have a Science degree along with other qualifications and its the same thing, Indians from Indian and other Asians are getting the jobs whereas I am still looking and I am an Australian Citizen from a Western country with similarities to Australia.
