Extremely disappointed… Purchased many products that were expired/ way past best before date. I was not warned or informed about this and only received a discount on one box of biscuits & when I went home I saw that almost everything was way past the best before date and some products are stale. Please check dates before purchasing for your own health and safety. I think it’s definitely violating our consumer rights. We expect to purchase high quality goods.

Do not shop here, Lady Knowing sold me expired food, when I asked for a refund she tried to convince me that it’s okay to eat expired products that expired in 2019, and it’s 2022,  save yourself time, money and your health, please double check if the products before purchasing most are expired, and still selling at original price with no warning. Really curel.also yo add, they are very pricey  unhappy customer.

Been coming to this store for many years now, we love getting foods from our country. The prices have become ridiculously expensive. Understandable, only if they weren’t trying to sell you expired items. I’ve been wanting to try certain snacks and drinks but have to put them back because they are always expired. They even have a reduced section for spoiled items instead of getting rid of them. Service can be better too. Not too welcoming even though you have to spend a fortune at the store. Sausages are also overpriced. We tried the lamb sausage a second time that looks big when packaged. It shrinks no matter how you cook it, loosing its moisture and becoming skinny. It’s almost as if it’s purposely made that way, a complete rip off. It’s sad that people who come for South African items are taken advantage of.

Service was ok meat at the store was not the usual taste I normally like at a South African shop did not have all the items that you can get at a South African shop but all is goodFood: 3/5

Lekker biltong. Im glad to see a decent SA shop here with really polite staff. The spices they use on thier biltong is amazing.. I already need to go back as I finished it all too quickly

If you’re looking for some traditional boerewors or biltong, or the best tomato sauce in the word! look no further. Not only do they stock a wide variety of products that you can’t find elsewhere, they make some pretty amazing samosas too!  You don’t have to be a South African to appreciate the culinary feast they offer, my Kiwi husband loves the Boerewors Sausage and biltong too!  Their service is impeccable and they deliver in a heartbeat. Probably one of my favourite Melbourne based stores

I usually take a drive down to the South African shop to get biltong. With lockdown and kms takes place in Victoria and it out of my control. I was glad that they do in fact deliver for these that ordered online. I am very pleased to be able to order biltong online during lockdown. I have done it twice and looking forward to ordering more biltong until the restrictions lifted. The first time I ordered biltong, I had received a phone call on my mobile which I did not answer due to deafness/hard of hearing, then received a text message asking how I liked my biltong, dry/wet, fat or no fat. I smiled knowing the communication with the South African shop was fantastic and the second time nothing was in place. When I received the second order, I was so pleased that they did in fact remembered me from the first order and given me mixed of wet/dry with lots of fat. Applaud to them for their fantastic services :-

Totally dissatisfied, will never return. I was in the shop this afternoon, 14/07/21  and the women who served my husband and  I was rude, she didn't even greet or even acknowledge we were there. My husband politely asked her if there was any biltong, she sighed and rolled her eyes, and reluctantly pointed at the "Stokkies" we bought $14 worth. She stood there grunting as if irritated. We spent over $100!!!! Not only bad customer service, the Stokkies were  tough and tasteless, was like chewing rope. $14 what a rip off, chucked it in the bin.

Always a great experience to visit the SA shop. Their biltong is the best in Melbourne and it’s great to see all the products from my childhood. Thanks for bringing a piece of South Africa to Melbourne.

The content of the shop was fair and neat and of a good variety as imported goods are always difficult to stock. The meat products looked good and fresh and the biltong was good quality. I could find all my needs as well. The young lady Steph was very friendly and helpful and appreciated her attitude.
