The value for the price is excellent in this close to everything location. Despite the fact that we confirmed reservations several months in advance, our request for a room with an accessible shower was not honored upon arrival as someone had booked a longer stay for that room type and it turns out that there is only one accessible room. That said, the on-site management provided a chair for the shower. This property is adequate with all the basics but no frills. We had one washcloth for two people and when I asked for another I was told they weren't available until the next day, but I was given an extra towel. The bathroom was new and modern with a rain shower. The other features such as bedding, furniture, kitchenette items and linens are older and a bit worn. Parking is tight but workable. The kookaburra are highly entertaining! Walkability: Close to town and beach
I booked three rooms. When we reached it was almost dark and there was no light in the entire hotel. They told that there was outage and had no idea when this will be fixed. They had no backup generators or batteries or even candles to provide us. I asked to refund the money and we will leave as we cannot stay in cold and darkness. They were not cooperative at all and said it’s our bad luck and they will refund no money. When I said that this was not right and very rude of them, they said that if we don’t leave their office they will call police. Think twice before booking at this place. Noteworthy details: Very bad customer service. No empathy with customers.
Terrible experience here. I called and booked a room which I was told was the last room available. I was charged $350 for the night which upon arrival as soon as I walked into the room it smelt like urine. I called straight away and the manager came straight away. Which he walked through and told me he could not smell anything he then called the housekeeper to come through and she went through. When he asked her if she could smell anything she then started speaking in their own language. He then damanded her to speak in English. I called him straight after picking up keys which I was not even in there for a minute nothing was touch nor used. I could smell the stench as I entered. I asked for my money back as I could not stay. Which I was advised he would give me back half the money and the remaining if it were to be booked out again. Mind you this is at 9:30pm at night. I would advise to go elsewhere for your stay in Cowes. The room also appeared dirty and overpriced for $350 for one person.
Meets expectations of what a 3 star motel should be. Clean, newish rooms, quality service. Appreciate the individual parking and the closeness to shops and restaurants. They provided a cot on request which was in excellent condition and for a very reasonable price. Walkability: It is a 5 minute walk from most supermarkets and plenty of shops. The beach is not too far either.

Yes it is old but clean. Air conditioner is new in our unit. Toilet bowl is new. The rest are in working condition. You get what you pay for. Jacuzzi works. Staff are friendly. Stayed here for 2 nights in mid September. Place is generally quiet.Rooms: 4/5

Within walking distance to the beach and some really great restaurants/cafes. The deluxe suite came with a spa which was nice and the room itself was very clean and came with ample coffee, soap etc. Otherwise, would've been nice to have a properly working freezer in the mini fridge and you could sometimes hear the plumbing in the walls when using the bathroom or when other rooms used their bathroom. Overall a good stay with lovely service.
The Coachman Motel was a decent place to stay for a few nights, although it is starting to show its age and could use some updating. The location was great, as it was within walking distance of the main center of town and the beach. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities we needed, including a comfortable bed and a small fridge. However, the decor and fixtures were a bit dated and could use some freshening up. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, the Coachman Motel served our needs for a short trip, but it would be even better with some renovations.
My family stayed here one night during our visit to Philip Island. We suddenly planned and book this place at the last minute but we were happy that they had everything in place when we went there. The room had almost all the kitchen amenities, dining table, microwave oven, refrigerator and a television too. Also it had a connecting room which has two single beds. Enough storage space to keep our bags and clothes. This motel is within walking distance to the Cowes beach and the city. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a motel in Philip island for a reasonable price.
