When into Boronia branch today to obtain forms to apply for Commonwealth Seniors Health Card. Receptionist asked for my Centrelink number and or identification and said she couldn't help me and needed to wait and see a officer. I said I only wanted the form. I was told she could not help me. This is a taxpayer funded Government service but the service does not exist. How bloody pathetic.
Application to register a newborn child: fill out 4 page form from hospital and submit to MES@servicesaustralia. The myGov app can also be used. Lady who helped us was friendly but misdirected us and the 4page orange form was not filled out or submitted. Once submitted, within 3 days the child will be added. This is all that's needed. No need to go in to the branch.
When addressing the staff who are sitting down at her desk, you'll have to stand in front of a transparent plastic shield. There is no chair for customers to sit in front of the staff desk. This setup allows everyone in the center to hear what you're saying due to the necessity of speaking loudly to be heard by the seated staff. Some customers may attempt to lean down and speak quietly, but the staff will inevitably respond in a raised voice because of the barrier. If you wish to avoid any potential embarrassment and humiliation, you might consider visiting another branch with a different communication setup.
