Marie Wallace Park has really gone downhill. The homelessness and syringes make it feel unsafe — I don’t even feel comfortable going there anymore. It’s been getting worse over the past year with no sign of improvement.nnAnd then there’s Norton Reserve. The trail was suddenly closed years ago with gates put up, and nothing has been done since. That walk used to be a favourite for hundreds of locals every day, and even supported a local business. To close it without progress or an alternative is just disappointing.nnPlease, fix what’s broken in our community spaces. These are meant to be safe, welcoming areas for everyone, but right now they simply aren’t.nnThis council needs to be less concerned with parking tickets - separately a huge issue I've recieved many given in error, so many I will ignore them until Knox city council apologise or take me to court like to target people who live near schools and the electronically monitored fines from wantirna mall are screwed, so dodgy. I got one for litrerally sitting in my own car. So be careful, ask for the photo.
We’ve lived in Knox for almost 10 years and have always found their staff professional and responsive. Council have been good to deal with for a variety is issues/queries e.g. street cleaning, replacement bins, asset protection.
I have contacted Knox City Council to raise a concern about the roadwork near Ferntree Gully Station yesterday afternoon. To my surprise, I received a detailed response this morning. I was impressed by how quickly the council followed up with all the relevant information and updates. It’s reassuring to know that community feedback is taken seriously and addressed in such a timely and professional manner. Thank you to the team for your prompt action and communication.
Don't live here. All the council focuses on is revenue eg illegally issuing parking tickets while making false reports.nThere has been a car parked out of the front of my house for months and they do nothing about that. There are trashed cars parked on the street and they do nothing about that.nI parked at Coles because there were no parks available. I left and came back at 1pm and parked in a 4 hour space. At 3:13 they gave me a parking ticket for parking too long and falsely reported they'd chalked my tire at 10am and it hadn't been driven on. This is a blatant lie, misconduct, and illegal issuing of a fine. They chalked the tire at 3:13. I disputed the fine and asked for evidence of my chalked tire at 10am in that space. They didn't provide it and didn't withdraw the fine. I've since seen the parking inspector taking down number plates and NOT chalking tires so they obviously don't take any feedback at all, and continue to operate in an unlawful way.nThey don't do anything when people repeatedly dump waste on the street illegally. They don't follow through with anything. Bayswater is constantly covered in trash.nMost useless council I've ever had to deal with.
I wasn't expecting to write this review. Up until now I've had only good conversations with staff members.nnI applied for some building plans in relation to a property I won at auction pending settlement in July 21/07/2025. I called on that day to confirm the process Interaction 1nnOn the 15th Business Day the estimated time advertised on Knox Council's website being 08/08/2025, I called to check in on the status of my application. The lady mentioned that the other lady looking after my file wasn't in today, but would send the plans by Monday 11/08/2025 Interaction 2.nnToday I called 12/08/2025 to double check to see where they were at. A man named Peter answered and in a fairly brash/defensive tone mentioned that as I had not settled the property, they could not send the plan Interaction 3.nnThis was the first time hearing of this. In neither of my previous interactions did the council mention that I had failed to provide / was required to provide a consent letter had I known, I would have requested this from the vendor in July.nnUpon checking, I can see it is mentioned on the website this is 100% my bad, howevern1. Council's failure to explain this to me over the phone;n2. The fact that the website allows you make the application without attaching a consent letter instead of marking it as a mandatory field; andn3. Radio silence from Council during the 15 business days obviously caused confusion they should have sent an email to make a note of the missing consent letter;nnis poor form.nnAnd I would have let it go if Peter was a bit nicer about it - but he was extremely defensive and abrasive over the phone.
