Great little camp site with basic stuff you need for camping and near enough to anything you need just a drive away
Beautiful campsite however the facilities have not been maintained and it's quite sad, cold showers only and sinks full of grime and dirt
Has hot showers and free gas-fired barbecues, well maintained facilities for low pp cost per night. Beautiful native bush surroundings and stunning freshwater stream. Excellent walking trails nearby and superb NZ native forests to explore.
the toilets and the bath are okay. but we came 5 min to late and they closed the gate. i informed the staff and he said no problem. because of this we had to sleep in the car. because of the very nice area i want to give this place 3 instead of 2 stars.
Great campsite with flushing toilet and covered kitchen. There's a difference between the price on-site and the price online
Great place to camp. The river is absolutely stunning here. I am particularly thankful and impressed with DOC's work in the area. The information around the nature walk was very well done and appreciated. It is a beautiful area.
Always been a great place spent alot time here in my youth then it didn't have a developed camping area great facility with bbqs showers and toilets as well as time when gate is locked at night and very cheap night camp over charges thumbs up
Been here twice now and would stay again. Nice area with alot of space. Good washing area for both yourself and your dishes. Not too far from the nearest town and the proprietor is a cool guy who let us in after hours. Also the views are amazing at night.
I was disappointed to find out that the water wasn't working during the weekend. No working of toilets and sinks. Also there was a school group that booked online. Didn't let them know that there was no water. How upset they were. What a let down. $15pp per night For what a piece of grass to tent on.
What a place! The secure gates are automatic. Summer opening time is 6am / winter 8am close to the ferry point and only $13 pppn! Clean toilets and showers - cleaned daily by the wardens. Worth it just for the stars at night!
