Nothing fancy but has basic necessities: toilet, hot shower, laundry, kitchen area, powered site for our Campervan. The view is pretty. The manager is friendly.
Thank you for having us at the last minute. Facilities were great thanks. Toilet and kitchen available to use plus wonderful hot showers. Worth giving them a call if your in a spot
Very rude manager - demanded we pay before showing us the site, sent us to a site that we physically couldn't camp on both crowded with other tents + too steep, then refused us a refund when we decided to try our luck elsewhere. Avoid at all costs.Rooms: 1/5
I’ve seen jail cells better than this ‍ needs to refurbish mattress were way too fin felt like I was sleeping on wood.Rooms: 1/5
My friends and I needed somewhere quick and cheap to stay the night... We didn't end up really meeting the staff by time we'd got there but we really appreciated how easily they sorted out a quick cabin for us and we really enjoyed meeting some of the people staying there when we used their kitchen for breakfast in the morning. Absolutely awesome!
We flew down from Auckland, as a whole group of up to 55-60 people including babies, children, teens til early 30's, mothers, fathers. We were fortunate enough to have found this place that could accommodate the lot of us. Beautiful view, fresh breeze up on the hill side with a stream running through the back of its kitchen facility. Also a trail for people to hike if your feeling adventurous. In the dorms where we stayed, there are 2 beds per room, not too small and no too big just right. But if you are a couple and have kids, ideally it's not for you unless you don't mind being old school and chucking a mattress on the floor while the kids sleep on the beds. Facilities very clean and well maintained. Would recommend to people the are looking for places to accommodate large numbers for gathers. Also a build in BBQ set out back where the smoking area is located behind the kitchen. Some of our family is still there.
We stayed in a room in the lodge used for schools and after camping for a week it was really great to be in doors! Warned that it was very basic so had expectations very low. It was pretty creepy but a funny experience and super cheap, so worth it! I did feel like I was in The Shining at night. Really nice guy who runs it. Separate single beds, kind of comfortable, great showers, nice little chill out room.
Loved it bit run down but clean loos clean and best showers we been. Many be spend a little money on site plugs and staff training in admin area with bookings.we where over booked but it can cause a bit of strife between sites. But rebound staying lovely and quite
Very good price for clean and good amenities. Excellent for a single night, e.g., before taking a ferry. Ground is quite hard, a hammer definitely helps with the pegs. Very crowded, people are up all night. Some talk but most seem to take a ferry the next day for which they need to get up really early which doesn't make your stay a quieter one.
If you are on a tight budget dont mind basic accomadation this is the place for you. It has beds, shared kitchen and nice hot showers do not expect more for what you pay. Lovely host and close to Porirua township
