Went to watch The Great GatsbynLovely performance by the artists. My first ballet experience.!!nnThe only downside- the fire alarm started almost at the end of the performance. We all thought it was a performance piece. But it wasn’t. The ballet performers completed the set after all was sorted by the fire crew.nnApart from that, loved the show!
I've had a great experience the two times I went to the Canberra Centre in 2023 and 2025, when I went to see Tommy Emmanuel! There was also perfect seating and interesting lights!
Booked early enough to get a seat in row B to see a matinee show ...excellent choice. Drink before the show was well priced and we could take them into the show. Toilets were close by, Good old theatre vibe
I cannot adequately express our gratitude to the Canberra Theatre Centre team tonight.nnMy father is wheelchair bound, and we had purchased VIP meet and greet tickets for this evening’s show. Due to accessibility limitations within the main theatre, he wasn’t able to be accommodated in the auditorium itself.nnWhat the team did next was nothing short of extraordinary.nnThey arranged for us to use a private VIP room and live-streamed the performance so my father wouldn’t miss a moment. They provided complimentary food and drinks and checked in with us throughout the evening to ensure he was comfortable and enjoying himself.nnEvery staff member we encountered was patient, professional and deeply kind. We never felt like an inconvenience — only supported and genuinely cared for.nnThis will very likely be the last show my father is able to attend, as he is living with a terminal illness. The compassion and thoughtfulness shown by the Canberra Theatre team has given our family a memory we will treasure forever.nnAccessibility is more than physical access — it’s empathy, flexibility and a willingness to go above and beyond. Tonight, they showed exactly what that looks like.nnFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
The theater itself is nice, with more or less comfortable chairs. The bubble show we went to watch wasn't that fun, though. My 4-year-old and I were bored after 10 minutes of the show.
