Story

Hippo Co has been committed to providing an amazing experience to our guests for over 15 years.

One of Australia's longest operating and most awarded cocktail and jazz venues, we specialise in creating exceptional drinks and a great atmosphere in which to enjoy them.

After undergoing extensive renovation in 2013 with the addition of a balcony and a full makeover, Hippo Co is set to continue the tradition of great service for the next 15 years!

This is a cozy whiskey bar with excellent cocktails. They make a unique old fashioned that was quite tasty. There bourbon and scotch selection is excellent and reasonable prices can be found. Their pours are small so be aware. The crowd is really eclectic as was the band playing cover tunes on Valentines Day. It’s a small place that can get crowded.

Great cocktails. Attentive bar tenders. Good music on several nights. I've traveled to Canberra in multiple occasions, and this is my go to bar.
