My friends and I came from Sydney and were very excited to try Akiba especially the glowing reviews we have heard about the place. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed by how terrible the food is. We collectively ordered 5 dishes and all 5 was disappointing, dry, completely unseasoned we were dependant on the condiments to make it flavourful.nnThe service was pretty standard, the person who seated us was extremely rude to us though. The service from the girls however were fantastic. One of the corn fritters was unusually sour, and the girl serving us was prompt to exchange it for us. However it did take us a while to get the new one.nnThis place was such a poor take on fusion food, and it was evident that the restaurant's popularity was just riding the coattails of the trendiness of Japanese fusion food. The price point was not worth the quality of food that was put out. Maybe we were unlucky that the 5 specific dishes we chose was just poor in taste and quality, but I find that hard to believe.nnMy constructive criticism is if you're going to do an Asian fusion menu, please have the courtesy to season your food! Thank you.

My partner and I came here from Sydney after hearing glowing reviews about Akiba from family and friends. We were served by Ari who was super friendly and attentive, and the flavour and textures of the food were amazing! Ari also recommended us a delicious cinnamon drink after hearing about my preferences for something sweet. Thank you Ari and the team for giving my partner and I an enjoyable first night in Canberra! Highly recommend coming here for the food and service!

Food was generally good. We tried the luxe set menu.nSome exceptional sake too.nWe were served by Darcy who was polite, informative and gave us the great sake suggestion.nnDocking a star cos we had mentioned it was our anniversary while making the reservation online, but ended up getting side by side seats despite tables being available where we could've been seated facing each other. Seemed like the whole point of the online reservation form asking if we were celebrating any occasion was completely lost on the team managing this.

Had a one night stopover in Canberra and found Akiba by accident. One of the best places we have eaten!! The food was spectacular and we were looked after by Willow who was full of personality, fun and bubbly. She made the evening one to remember. We will be back the next time we are in town for sure.

Food was exceptional. This was my first time in Canberra for work and it was a great dining experience. Dom was our server and she was friendly and you can tell she is a genuine person who enjoys her job. Thanks for the nice dining experience and recommending the mango mule!
