Great food! Everything we got was delicious! Molly, our server, was great! She was very friendly and attentive which made the dining experience even better. Did the course meal and it was amazing! Definitely a diverse menu and so glad for it because we got so many different things to try. There were more pics but got so hungry, didn’t end up taking the others, we just gobbled them up. So yummy!

I don’t give many reviews below 5 stars but unfortunately Akiba just missed the mark for me this time. I need to say firstly that the service was amazing, all the staff were super friendly and efficient but the stand out was Willow, she has many suggestions for drinks and dishes and even brought out a couple of complimentary things when she heard we'd driven from Wagga that night.nnThe entrees were the stand out especially the Balmain Bug Bun and Pulled Beef Bun, after that the food seemed to be not up to their usual standard based on their good reviews. The squid was dry and over cooked almost like a jerky, potatoes and carrots were bland and tasteless, the fried chicken was also dry and all I could taste was the cheese it was covered with. The Barramundi was the best main.nnAt the end when paying the bill there was a mistake leading to us being charged for 6 x 6 oysters instead of the 6 oysters we had, was shocked when I saw the price so had to double check but they sorted it out after a few minutes.nnThe drinks were a let down, Willow brought us out an amazing first drink but then her shift ended and she had to go. The next 2 drinks were not the same, we tried to describe the drink Willow has brought out but they didn't match the taste and presentation was also totally different.nnOverall, 3 stars. Would probably come back after cycling through other Canberra restaurants first. Keen to check out Wilma also as I've heard good things. Thanks guys!

I visited AKIBA for the first time with my husband and it was honestly unforgettable. Our waitress, Willow, greeted us with the biggest smile, kind words and genuine interest in getting to know us. She even asked if we were celebrating anything and surprised us with a Miso Dengaku Eggplant to celebrate us, which was such a thoughtful touch. The music, vibe, and atmosphere were all unreal energetic, fun, and welcoming. We ordered the Prawn Fried Rice, Wagyu Beef Skirt, Vegan Umami Dumplings, Prawn & Chicken Dumplings, Pork Belly Bun, Japanese Fried Chicken Bun, Charcoal Roasted Edamame, and their Lychee Rose Martini, and every single dish was a 10/10. I have eaten dumpling around the world, but the Vegan Umami Dumplings are something I have never had before and they were unreal! Everything was so delicious and exceeded expectations. An absolute must-try in Canberra! Shout out to Willow thank you beautiful girl!

Jem and the team did a great job and recommended the Feed Me menu at $69. Excellent choices and great breadth of options.  He also recommended a great wine - the Secret Garden Chardonnay. Loved the evening with friends and food

We had an amazing dinner tonight. The online booking  was easy and our arrival was greeted with a big smile.nFrom here we were introduced to Max.nMax made everything easy. He helped with our food and sake selection and everything was delicious.nAll the staff are happy, attentive and knowledgeable - testament to the owners.nThis is an interesting Asian fusion restaurant with excellent dishes and service. Plus a fully stocked bar.nWe left feeling really content and wished we had something similar locally in Melbourne.
