Loved the food and the decor in this place. Chose this because we were looking for something different and one in the group is gluten and lactose intolerant. Great variety for her, and we enjoyed every dish. One guy cooking and serving, but food was prompt and he was very friendly and helpful, particularly with dietary needs. Definitely recommend.

Probably the best place I've eaten in Ballarat to be honest. Really friendly service, really good food, plus they're vegan friendly. The vegan love cake is a must while you're here!

One of the best places to eat in Ballarat. The owner/chef is a great bloke and always ready for a chat. He will definitely teach you new things about his culture from food to politics.

We were looking for a place to eat dinner with friends whilst staying in Ballarat when we came across Cafe Merkama. Would highly recommend. Absolutely awesome service and delightful, tasty and delicious food. The gentleman's advise for choice of food was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. It was cooked to perfection. Would go again anytime. Great for the children too. It's an absolutely 'must do experience'. Excellent personal service.
