Bunnings Manukau is genuinely one of the best hardware stores around in terms of range and availability. The store is massive, well-organised, and has just about everything you could need—whether you’re doing a small home repair, a full renovation, or a trade-level job. The shelves are well-stocked, and the layout makes it easy to browse once you get familiar with it. You can spend hours here and still come out with new ideas for your next project.nnBut as much as I love the store itself, the customer service is where it falls short—big time. It’s incredibly difficult to find staff on the floor when you need help. More often than not, they’re either walking away quickly or seem to vanish into thin air when you start heading toward them. It feels like you’re on a bit of a mission just to track someone down. And even when you do manage to get someone’s attention, the help you get is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a knowledgeable team member, but other times the answers are vague, rushed, or just plain unhelpful.nnIt’s a shame because with a store this good, you’d expect the service to match. If Bunnings Manukau could sort out the staffing issue—either by having more people available or ensuring the ones on duty are more approachable and informed—it would easily be a five-star experience.nnFor now, it’s a great place to shop if you already know what you’re looking for. If you need advice or assistance, prepare to be patient… and maybe bring a compass.
A huge warehouse of a great variety of all you would be after in diy building repairs crafts etc all here .nLots of parking.. toilets also a hardware cafe for your rest or just wanting a coffee and scone .nSelf service stations to check out your selfnImpressive one stop shopping
Not happy. I thought using Click & Collect would be a faster option than wandering around the store trying to find the item myself. Unfortunately, there was no one manning the collection counter, and there was no signage indicating that I needed to join the long queue at the information desk. The store appeared to be incredibly short staffed, and I ended up waiting in line for a ridiculous amount of time for something I had already paid for and just needed to pickup. Honestly, I seriously considered abandoning the click and collect order and just buying another item via the self serve, and then await the refund to come through.nnWhat made it even more frustrating was seeing several staff members casually walking around, chatting with each other, and even distracting the staff who were actively trying to help customers. The wandering staff didn’t seem willing to step in and help clear the backlog, and instead appeared more focused on trying to look busy. Overall, the experience completely defeated the purpose of using Click & Collect for me.
I had a very disappointing experience with van hire at Bunnings Warehouse Manukau.nnFirstly, the vehicle was dirty when it was given to us. Despite this, we still took the initiative to clean it ourselves before use.nnWhen returning the van, a staff member named Shaline at the customer desk told me around 7:50pm that there was a bad smell and asked me to clean it again. I personally checked and there was nothing wrong, but still went to a nearby car wash and cleaned it again just to avoid any issues.nnAfter returning on time and showing the vehicle to her, she insisted that we should have used a cloth to wipe the inside. This is unfair — the condition of the vehicle should have been properly recorded before it was handed over.nnWhat was even more frustrating was her attitude. She mentioned she hadn’t been working all week and now had too much work, which is not a valid excuse. A company like Bunnings should manage staff workload better rather than putting pressure on customers.nnEarlier at 7:15pm, I had called to extend the van hire for another day and was told no vehicles were available. However, when I returned the van, I was able to rebook one immediately. This clearly shows inconsistency and lack of honesty.nnDue to this experience, I have cancelled all my future bookings with Bunnings Manukau.nnIn comparison, the service at Bunnings Warehouse Botany is far better and much more professional.nnManagement seriously needs to look into this issue and improve customer service standards at the Manukau branch.nnsee attached available slots on same time when i seen.
