This is a larger club with lots of spaces to relax, drink and eat. There is a bistro and Cafe as well as a large area to sit and enjoy your meal. The main access is from the car park at the side bur there is also a door on the main road side. There are many photographs to view and they often have live shows.
Brothers Leagues Club in Cairns has lots of history on display, which was nice to see. We waited a while to sign in as the lovely receptionist was also having to run the bottle shop at the same time. The food was average, although the membership did save us 10%. Overall, not in a massive hurry to return.
Loved everything about this club; we joined. The coffee, excellent! Other drinks, excellent! Breakfast, lunch and cakes all excellent. We had breakfast/brunch 3 days, dinner, salads, slices etc., all very good. Staff and service, very good to exceptional.nnThe exception was the catered sit down 3 course dinner at our event.nnIt was expensive but ordinary; bruschetta was soggy, main meals were either overcooked and too hard to eat not sure even a steak knofe would have helped and / or cold fish which my friend did not eat. Service was odd, clearing plates first, from last tables served, peculiar at best.nPrawn entree seemed well liked. Dietary needs were not accomodated as 'booked'.nnBoth desserts seemed well received, mine was lovely. Decor appropriate and very good, suitable for occasion.nnWe know you were capable of so much better as we enjoyed everything else you provided for a full 5 days.
First time visit.nVery impressed with the venue, quality of food and the service.nThe $5 membership fee was recouped ordering our lunch -roast pork and beef with selection of vegetable followed by apple crumble and ice cream.nThe dining area is roomy, comfortable and staffed by friendly people.nWe will definitely be back during our 3 months stay in Cairns.
Where to start on tonight’s fiasco, the young man behind the sports bar was too busy on his phone to serve us, the birthday draw was an absolute crap show no one knew what was going on, the “restaurant manager” in foretellies or so her badge said didn’t even know what beer they had on tap when I ordered my beer id been drinking all night and she informed me they don’t have it! The food was awful my burger bun burnt to a crisp middle of the burger not even cooked, the pizza was awful and it was all round disappointing, been there plenty and it’s always “ok” nothing to complain about but enjoyable tonight was awful and we didn’t even know when. The draw had finished. No communication to patrons for an establishment that is so well presented it really was not deserving of its environment tonight
